LUZON HEIGHTS stands out on recent form and should open his account for the season, provided they go enough of a gallop, while Ya Karim is likely to be a serious danger stepping back up in trip.

Timeform Comments

Gorgeous Mr George (IRE)
Tactically versatile sort who came from last to first to notch a fourth win at this track in a C&D handicap 8 days ago. He could be ridden more handily given how this is likely to unfold, though a 5-lb penalty may prevent a follow up, regardless.
Distinct Spirit
Stood little racing since debut win at Salisbury in July 2024. Hampered/unseated rider when in the process of running a solid race over C&D last October and it's a slight niggle that he's been off since.
Daring Legend
Course winner who made good start for current yard when nose second at Kempton on return, but was again below that form (despite having the run of the race) when fifth of 7 over 7f here last time and has stamina to prove up in trip.
North View
Disappointed both turf starts following a fairly useful winter/spring on the all-weather, however, it's too soon to dismiss him with cheekpieces refitted and Sean Levey taking over from a 7-lb apprentice.
Berry Clever
In fine heart 3 starts here last month, hitting the frame in handicaps either side of a 7f success and while not in the same form in a steadily-run affair at Newbury on his latest outing, he's probably worth another chance given his course record.
Ya Karim (IRE)
200,000 gns son of Ghaiyyath who got off the mark in a 7f course novice last season. Gelded after doing plenty wrong when fourth on reappearance here (1m) but straight back on the up when well-backed third on handicap bow at Kempton (7f) latest, and he looks well worth another try over this trip.
Luzon Heights
Southwell nursery winner who has some strong handicap form this season, chasing home the subsequent Britannia runner-up at Ascot prior to being caught too far back when fourth at Sandown last time. Very much the form pick, though he'd ideally need a decent pace in the race.
Peel Park (IRE)
Winner of a 6f course novice last summer who didn't see out his race on first try over 1m at Ascot. Wasn't far behind a subsequent winner at Doncaster (7f) since, despite showing an ungainly side in first-time blinkers, but needs to prove he can put it all together back up in trip.
Kaori
Dubawi filly out of a smart family who went the right way in maiden/novice company last year. Still green but ultimately disappointing when well beaten on handicap debut/return on the all-weather at Lingfield, however, too early to discount given her pedigree/connections.
