Timeform View

An ultra-competitive sprint in which preference is for DUBLIN BAY, who bolted up at Wolverhampton recently and a 10 lb rise may not be enough to prevent Ollie Sangster's 3-y-o from following up. Marcellinus got within a flared nostril of scoring here 12 days ago and he may have to settle for silver again, with Kiniro another fancied to be in the shake up, too.

Timeform Comments

Betsen
Had been primarily campaigned at 6f by this yard but returned to form dropped back to 5f to win a 6-runner event at Chepstow last month. Wasn't disgraced from a low draw when eighth of 20 in "Dash" at Epsom (5f, soft) 3 weeks ago and remains one to be interested in with his sights lowered.
Desert Cop
On a lengthy losing run and never looked like ending that in first-time cheekpieces when seventh of 9 at this course (5f, good to firm) 5 days ago.
Star Chorus (IRE)
Won twice at Southwell early this year (over 6f on latter start) but never a factor on both starts since returning from a 4-month break in recent weeks (went without equipment latest). Hood back on for this return to 6f but probably needs further respite from the handicapper.
Kiniro
Notched a second career all-weather success on final start for Harry Charlton at Lingfield last October. Fared much better in a less competitive contest than previously for current connections when second of 8 at Newbury (6f, good to soft) just over 2 weeks ago and can feature again.
An Outlaw's Grace (IRE)
Winless since debut but from his easing mark he turned in best performance of 2026 when second of 9 over C&D last month, albeit was seen to better effect than several of his rivals. Ran poorly at York (6f, good) 12 days later though, so needs to bounce back.
Dublin Bay (IRE)
Much improved with a couple of 7f Wolverhampton wins this year, bursting clear around the home turn to score by a wide margin in 11-runner event most recently last month. Handicapper had his say with a 10 lb rise but that may not be enough to prevent the follow up. Cheekpieces left off.
Jax Edge
Capped a largely consistent 2025 with success at Bath and proved better than ever back at that track when winning 10-runner event (5.7f, good to firm) just over 3 weeks ago, able to dominate while other fancied runners weren't seen to best effect. 6 lb higher here but would be folly to discount.
Supreme King (IRE)
Landed a 6f all-weather hat-trick during the winter and back to winning ways in 10-runner event at Salisbury (6f, heavy) earlier in the month, that the pick of the bunch in form terms. Nudged up just 2 lb and no reason why he won't be on the premises again.
Angel Of Anfield
Confirmed previous promise when making all in C&D novice last summer and followed that with a good second on nursery bow at Kempton in October. Well held at Ascot (7f, good to firm) on return, however, and others look better treated. Quickly back sprinting.
Combustion
Progressive 5-y-o, recording his seventh win in 9 starts at Kempton in February. Ran well at Chelmsford next time and can have his latest effort at Ascot overlooked (caught furthest away from main action from worst of draw). Returns to 6f but his effectiveness on turf remains a question.
Marcellinus
Left his placed form as a juvenile behind to make a successful handicap debut/reappearance at Bath (5.7f, good to soft) in April. Runner-up on both subsequent starts, most recently going down by a nose in 11-runner event over C&D 12 days ago. Should be winning again before too long.
Alasrae
Very good spell on all-weather since joining George Boughey, winning 3 times. Ran well to prove himself on turf when third of 11 over C&D (good to firm) 12 days ago and he's likely to continue in form.
