SOLAR PASS bumped into a rival right back to their best when a clear second over C&D 2 weeks ago and she go one better from an unchanged mark. Shipshape has been in fine form since joining Bernard Llewellyn and is another player stepped up in trip, with Curran completing the shortlist.

Timeform Comments

Venezuelan (IRE)
Won a Lingfield maiden prior to finishing second in 1½m handicaps at Newmarket/Wolverhampton last year. Sold from Ralph Beckett (90,000 gns) and shaped as if the run might have been needed when eighth over C&D 4 weeks ago, though seemed to almost pull himself up passing the stables. Visor back on.
Midnight Rumble
Poor strike rate but ended his time with Alan King in good form on all-weather this winter and shaped as if still in decent heart after changing hands for 30,000 gns when fifth of 9 at this C&D (good, 33/1) 28 days ago, though didn't particularly convince with his suitability for the staying trip.
Solar Pass
Resumed winning ways at Southwell (1½m) in March and has continued to give her running since, beating the remainder emphatically when second of 9 in handicap at this C&D (good to soft) 14 days ago. Leading player.
Shipshape (IRE)
Left Ralph Beckett for only 7,000 gns late last year but has done really well for his new yard, off the mark in Southwell in May prior to going close at Thirsk. Resumed winning ways at Hamilton late last month and followed up in an 8-runner handicap at this course (12.3f). Should stay 2m here.
Curran (IRE)
Back-to-back winner last summer and held form well until final start of 2025. Left Charlie Johnston for just 6,000 gns and though he made a low-key stable debut, he was right back to his best when winning an 8-runner handicap at Bath (1¾m) 3 weeks ago. Still on a handy mark from just 2 lb higher.
Ruler Legend (IRE)
Capitalised on a career-low hurdles mark at Market Rasen in April before following up there a week later. Has remained in good heart over obstacles and is on a workable mark based on the pick of his Flat form for previous connections.
Furhaan
Made a winning handicap debut at Windsor (11.5f) in September for Ed Walker before leaving yard for 32,000 gns after next outing. Fared a bit better than previously for this trainer when seventh of 10 at Hamilton (11f) 41 days ago. Found wanting for change of gear there, so longer trip may suit.
