Timeform View

BLUE TO BLUE is given a chance to atone for a slightly disappointing run at Carlisle last month, as the form of his second in a 3-y-o only race at Haydock prior to that has been franked on a few occasions. Frankies Dream arrives at the top of his game and heads the dangers along with Wild Nature and Delinquent.

Timeform Comments

Wahdan (IRE)
Useful 3-y-o in France but lost his way for Joseph O'Brien last year. Not disgraced when mid-division in 10.3f course handicap on return for new yard a fortnight ago. May come on for that and promising apprentice takes 7 lb off.
Darkness (FR)
Respectable eleventh of 19 in handicap at this course (7f, good to firm, 50/1) 14 days ago, unable to sustain effort. Visor back on.
Nostrum
Smart earlier in his career but struggled for David O'Meara in 2025. Much more encouraging signs for new yard this year, notably his Sandown second last month, but he disappointed with cheekpieces added (off now) at Newmarket on Thursday. NON RUNNER.
Wild Nature
Both wins at Kempton, the latter over 7f for this yard in November. Did too much too soon when 9 lengths third of 8 on 7f Musselburgh reappearance 37 days ago. Should come on for the run and the booking of Oisin Murphy takes the eye.
Sujet
Won twice at up to 9f for Dermot Weld in Ireland last year. Promising second at Chester (7f, good to firm) for new yard in May but needs to bounce back from a couple of lesser runs since.
Jimmy Speaking
Has returned better than ever, justifying good support in 16-runner handicap at Doncaster before following up despite doing plenty wrong at Southwell (7f). Ran well again when runner-up at Newmarket (1m) last month and fared best of those ridden prominently in a strong race at Epsom since.
Frankies Dream (IRE)
Won a competitive big-field 7f handicap here last year and has shown even better form in defeat this season, finishing second of 16 over 9f here a fortnight ago. Likely to go well again.
Andesite
Winless since his debut but produced one of his best efforts when second of 19 in handicap at this course (7f, good) 14 days ago, running on late. Claims if in the same form.
Cadarn (IRE)
Started 2025 with 2 Redcar wins but largely below par in a light career since, including well held over 10.3f here 6 weeks ago. Back down in trip with a tongue tie also refitted for the first time this year.
Wreck It Ryley (IRE)
Landed a big gamble on second start back at Leicester (6f, good) in April. Creditable third of 12 at Doncaster (6f, good) but ran poorly over 7f at Musselburgh since. This is a belated first attempt at 1m.
Eligible (IRE)
This veteran completed an all-weather hat-trick over the winter but has found life tougher of late, including never a threat when tenth of 20 over 7f here 15 days ago.
Zennor Storm
Won a 7f maiden and 1m novice on Kempton's all-weather towards the end of 2025. Failed to build on that as might have been expected in a couple of turf handicaps last month but still early days and it's possible a recent gelding operation could have helped. Market support interesting.
Golden Strike (IRE)
Bar a disappointing effort at the Doncaster Lincoln meeting he's done very well since visored, bouncing back to form with a bang to land a 22-runner course handicap (7f, good) 5 weeks ago. 1m is an unknown but he still looks feasibly handicapped.
Tailgunner Joe (USA)
Had a productive spell in Dubai earlier in the year, including a 1m win, but well held in pair of 1¼m starts back in Britain. The return to 1m may help but has too much to prove.
Blue To Blue (IRE)
Triple winner over 7f for Karl Burke in 2025. Got back on the up for his new yard with second of 10 in handicap at Haydock (1m) last month, with reopposing Delinquent behind in fifth. Bit underwhelming when only fifth at Carlisle since but there is nothing wrong with the Haydock form.
Delinquent (IRE)
Winner of 1m handicaps at Southwell and Hamilton (good to firm) this spring. Respectable fifth of 14 in strong 3-y-o only handicap at Carlisle (1m, good) last time. Considered now taking on his elders for the first time.
