Timeform View

With pace drawn all across the track, stall 11 may not prove too disadvantageous for FORTIFICATION, who did remarkably well to finish third from an even worse draw here last time. He gets the nod over Schrodinger's Cat, who was favourably placed when bolting up at Redcar last Saturday, while Our Cody arrives on an upward trajectory and should find this run to suit.

Timeform Comments

Manatee Mehmas (IRE)
105,000 gns Mehmas gelding who was an impressive winner on debut at Doncaster prior to acquitting himself when fourth in a C&D listed event subsequently. Not in the same form in the Scurry at Sandown last time and while it's still early days, he'll need to pull out more to defy his opening mark.
Boston Dan (IRE)
Useful juvenile who opened his account in a 5f Hamilton maiden in September but doesn't look to have trained on, for all he wasn't seen to best effect from a disadvantageous draw in a better race here last time.
Schrodinger's Cat
Had some strong place form to his name (including over C&D on penultimate start) prior to justifying support with ease when making it 2-2 at Redcar 7 days ago. 9 lb rise doesn't look insurmountable on the bare form, however, there's a strong chance he was flattered by being on the favoured rail.
Stargazed
Resumed progress when strong-travelling second behind Fortification in an ultra-competitive C&D handicap on return. Below that form when twelfth of 27 in the Palace of Holyroodhouse handicap at Royal Ascot since, however, she cannot be discounted returning to this track.
Fortification
Ex-Wathnan gelding who showed much improved form to win a very competitive C&D handicap on stable debut last month. Latest third here was most encouraging given his poor track position and while stall 11 isn't exactly ideal, there's pace drawn around him, and he may well resume winning ways.
Our Cody (IRE)
Windsor maiden winner who has advanced her form both starts this year, finishing a useful fourth in the Scurry at Sandown last time, and given that she's likely to get a good toe into the race from stall 6, there could be a bigger performance to come back in a handicap.
Shes Got A Brother
Dual Southwell winner who shaped well when fourth behind Fortification on turf/handicap debut over C&D and showed all her usual dash when a career-best fifth in an Ayr listed race last time. She remains unexposed as a sprinter, however, the draw could have been kinder on return to a handicap.
Mighty Magnus (IRE)
Progressive sort at a lower level who doubled his tally at Musselburgh last time. He's well drawn/tactically versatile but may just be found out by the step up in grade.
Naana's Shadow (IRE)
Speedy sort who finished third behind Fortification over C&D before notching a third career success in straightforward fashion under Oisin Murphy (1-1) in the Epsom Dash. Now 7 lb higher in a race where she'll face competition for lead, though it's unlikely we've seen the best of her yet.
Allsortz (IRE)
Improved for the drop to the minimum trip when making all/showing a good attitude at Cork last month. Went through the race as though still ahead of his mark when close third at the Curragh subsequently, however, he's pitched into an ultra-competitive sprint here.
Front Line Fury (IRE)
Fairly useful 2-time winning juvenile who ran well from his slipping mark when runner-up to a progressive one at Kempton last time. Showed enough pace to suggest he's well worth another crack at the minimum trip and benefits from Tom Marquand taking over.
Go Vince Go (IRE)
Hasn't won since notching his third juvenile success in a C&D nursery last October and has edged further down the weights on the back of another below-par effort over 6f here last time.
Hanney Girl
Fifth behind Fortification over C&D earlier in the season but her typical dash wasn't enough to shake off Naana's Shadow at Epsom last time and she may again prove vulnerable to improving types.
Alfa Duplicate (IRE)
Showed a fine attitude when making it 3 wins from previous 4 starts at Beverley last month but wasn't fast enough to make it to the lead in the Epsom dash subsequently, for all she ran creditably in the face of a wider-than-ideal trip.
Rotokura Belle
Found a perhaps unexpected jolt of improvement to double her tally for the season over C&D last time. That form is working out well, though Silvestre De Sousa prefers stablemate Alfa Duplicate on this occasion.
