HALLO SPACEBOY took a huge step forward when just denied at Ascot (shaped best) 7 weeks ago and is narrowly preferred to Percy's Star, who also impressed when making a winning handicap debut at Leicester. Kinnalargy and Explosive Finnish complete the shortlist.

Timeform Comments

Evening Blues (IRE)
Placed 3 times prior to getting off mark at Dundalk (1m) in November. Pulled too hard both starts for new yard this season and return to sprinting is potentially a good move.
Kinnalargy
Novice winner at Redcar last summer and all the better for return when fifth at Thirsk 4 weeks ago. Entitled to come on again and return to 6f likely to suit.
Hallo Spaceboy
Improving son of Starman who bagged a 5f novice at Newcastle on final 2-y-o start. Shaped well when runner-up in 6f handicaps at Kempton and Ascot this year, particularly when going down narrowly (and clear of the third) at the latter venue which has thrown up winners. Tops the shortlist.
Rikki Tiki Tavi (IRE)
Confirmed debut promise at the second attempt when narrow winner of Thirsk maiden last summer. However, struggled at a higher level next 2 starts and was always behind on handicap debut/return. Has since had breathing operation.
Invincible Boy (IRE)
Very promising second over C&D on debut and confirmed that at the second attempt when making a winning return at Pontefract in April. Opening mark demands more but he could be useful.
Arduis Invicta (IRE)
Kept busy last year, winning twice, and good second back down in class at Musselburgh 3 weeks ago. Seems just as effective at this trip.
Vidmiyr (IRE)
Made most of a good opportunity in maiden at Lingfield (turf) last month and excellent placed efforts back in handicaps next 2 starts, just losing out in a 3-way photo at Chester 2 weeks ago. Player if coping with drop back in trip.
Bleep Test
Successful at Redcar last spring but failed to build on that after. Stiff task after almost a year off.
Mr Noble (IRE)
Starman colt. Dam unreliable winner up to 6f. Overcame inexperience when readily making a winning debut at Newcastle in November. Unable to land odds at Wolverhampton on return but remains with potential heading into handicaps.
Million Gold
Earthlight colt. Closely related to 3 winners, including very smart 5f winner Big Evs. Overcame obvious inexperience when winning novice at Kempton in December but was unable to land the odds at Newcastle following month. Off since and headgear fitted for handicap bow.
Percy's Star
Bred to stay further but clearly not short of speed and took a big step forward when making all in this headgear in good style at Leicester on handicap bow 3 weeks ago. Remains unexposed.
Explosive Finnish
Encouraging placed efforts in handicaps this season, clear if rest when beaten only by a big improver at Chester 2 weeks ago. Remains of interest.
Logi Bear (IRE)
Had lost his way but returned to form on only third start for current yard when second at Thirsk 3 weeks ago.
Bye Law (IRE)
Bagged a pair of 6f novice events at Ayr and Redcar last summer. Back to form when placed last 2 starts but may find this too competitive. Headgear on.
Von Trotter
Runner-up on all 3 starts in all-weather novice/maidens but well below that level in handicaps since.
