CONFUCIUS should be hard to beat on the back of his third in the Coventry at Royal Ascot. Immortal Guard is most likely to follow him home, while interesting newcomer Mr Predicated is one to note for support.

Timeform Comments

Confucius (IRE)
1,700,000 gns yearling No Nay Never colt who was an unlucky second on debut at this track prior to going one better in decisive fashion at Cork and, having progressed again when a well-backed third in the Coventry at Royal Ascot, he should resume winning ways with his sights lowered.
Dandyman Dan (IRE)
Won a fair Bath maiden on debut, though was seemingly flattered when fifth in a Sandown listed event prior to finishing down the field in the Woodcote, and he's unlikely to be good enough.
Immortal Guard (IRE)
€100,000 Persian Force colt who landed a gamble in a C&D maiden on debut. Ran at least as well when third in the Group 3 Marble Hill at this track last time but, while there's likely better to come, he again bumps into a useful Ballydoyle juvenile here.
Mr Predicted (USA)
Foaled April 13. $200,000 yearling, $300,000 2-y-o, Corniche colt. Dam, lightly raced in US, closely related to US Grade 2 9f winner Adriano. Pitched in at the deep end on racecourse bow, however, he holds an entry in the Group 1 Phoenix and is presumably held in high regard by his excellent yard.
The Harv (IRE)
Expensive breeze-up purchase who narrowly justified short odds to make a winning start at Goodwood. Found trouble in running when well held in the Coventry (50/1) subsequently and, while he remains capable of better, it's hard to envisage him reversing the form with Confucius.
Ballinea Star (IRE)
Made the most of her experience when opening her account at the third attempt in a fillies maiden at Cork last time. Stiff task pitched into Group company against the males, though, with Immortal Guard the better fancied of the yard's runners.
