THUNDERING ON produced one of the best winning performances in the Oaks this century and she'll be hard to beat if in anything like the same form. Estrange's impressive reappearace win at Carlisle suggests she can mix it at the top level again this season and she's second choice ahead of Red Letter.

Timeform Comments

Carolina Jetstream
All 4 career victories at Dundalk but posted a career best when runner-up in Group 2 over 1m here last month. Backed that up with a fine effort in the Duke of Cambridge at Royal Ascot last week but surely playing for a place at best at this level.
Estrange (IRE)
Runner-up in Group 1s on her last 2 outings last year and looked better than ever when smooth winner of Group 3 Pinnacle at Carlisle (11f, good) on reappearance. Likely to go well.
Nyra (GER)
Proved herself useful for Waldemar Hickst last summer, winning a Hamburg Group 3 prior to a close third in the German Oaks. Better effort for new yard when good ½-length second of 9 to Sparan Nua in Munster Oaks at Cork (1½m, good) 13 days ago.
One Look (IRE)
Won a pair of Group 3s here last season and went on to finish a close third in the Prix de l'Opera at Longchamp. Resumed with a satisfactory 2 lengths fourth (reopposing Carolina Jetstream second) of 12 to City of Memphis in Group 2 here over a barely adequate 1m (good to firm) 34 days ago.
Qilin Queen (IRE)
Made all in listed race at Newbury and Group 2 at Longchamp (1½m) last year. Found out in Group 1s since, running creditably on form but underlining that she is short of the required standard at this level when 7½ lengths fourth of 5 to Daryz on Longchamp reappearance.
Red Letter
Group 3 winner over 9f here last summer. Latest ¾-length second of 4 to See The Fire in Middleton at York (10.3f, good) was a career-best effort. No reason why she won't give a good account with the Ger Lyons team going well.
Wemightakedlongway (IRE)
Useful filly. Probably found emphasis too much on speed when below-form 2¼ lengths fourth of 10 to Isaac Newton in listed race at Navan (9f, good, 7/1) 20 days ago. First-time visor replaces cheekpieces.
Beautify (IRE)
Landed 6f course Group 2 before chasing home stablemate Precise in the Moyglare. Showed she's trained on when 6 lengths sixth of 11 to that same rival in Irish 1000 Guineas here (1m, good to firm) 34 days ago but improvement will be needed if she's to feature here stepped up further in trip.
Thundering On
Fast-improving filly who won Navan Group 3 over this trip before blowing apart the Oaks at Epsom (1½m, good to soft), beating Legacy Link 3¾ lengths with the rest strung out in behind. The return to 1¼m on what may be the quickest ground she's faced asks a different question but hard to oppose.
Venetian Lace (IRE)
Has developed physically over the winter and took a step forward from her 2-y-o form (runner-up in Fillies' Mile) when third in 1000 Guineas at Newmarket (1m, good to firm) on return. Might have been unsuited by softer ground (beaten before stamina an issue) when well held in Oaks at Epsom since.
