Timeform View

DILIGENT HARRY has been in fine form this season and can make it back-to-back wins in the Chipchase Stakes. Symbol of Honour was a bit disappointing in Dubai over the winter but is still worth considering on the strength of his 3-y-o form, whilst C&D winner Heavenly Heather is also considered on the back of her excellent Royal Ascot effort.

Timeform Comments

Marvelman (IRE)
Smart colt who was a ready winner of the Group 2 Park Stakes at Doncaster (7f, good) last September. Made a slightly underwhelming return to action when only ninth of 13 in 7f Group 2 in Saudi in February. Freshened up since and has a hood added now returning to a bare 6f for only a second time.
Bloodsweatandtyres
Acclamation gelding who built on debut when ready winner of 7-runner novice here (7f) in November but limitations seemed exposed when last of 22 in a handicap at York (7f, good) last month. Should be out of his depth here.
Diligent Harry
Won this race last season and has proved as good as ever this year, making it back-to-back listed race wins at Lingfield in February. Translated that form to turf with good in-frame efforts in the Abernant Stakes and the Minster Stakes and should go close to landing this for the second year running.
Ferrous (IRE)
Ran up to his best when second of 7 in 6f handicap at Lingfield in February, nearest finish. Raced closer to the pace than ideal when fifth in a valuable C&D handicap on Good Friday but he'll probably need a career best to make the breakthrough at Pattern level here.
Heathcliff
Multiple all-weather scorer who added to his tally at Lingfield (7f) in February before a good second at listed level next time. Good fourth from a career-high mark in a C&D handicap on Good Friday but lesser efforts on turf since and he'll probably need to improve despite return to tapeta.
Noble Champion (IRE)
Much improved when taking the Jersey Stakes in good style at Royal Ascot (7f, good to firm) last summer. Returned lame in the Lennox Stakes on final start last year and shaped as if amiss again after a 10-month absence when last of 5 at Longchamp on return, so has something to prove at present.
Paborus
Highly progressive in 2024 and he continued on the up when a ready scorer on last season's return in 6-runner conditions race at Thirsk (7f) before finishing a good third upped to this level when third in the Criterion Stakes at York (7f, good). Player if ready after to roll after a year off.
Poet Master (IRE)
Winless since 2024 but still showed smart form when runner-up twice last year. Produced his best effort of this season when 2¼ lengths third of 8 to Ten Bob Tony in the Tattenham Corner Stakes at Epsom (7f, good to soft) 3 weeks ago. Drops to sprint trip for first time here.
Symbol Of Honour
Winner of the Group 2 Sandy Lane Stakes at Haydock last season. Failed to fire at listed level at Meydan on first start this year, though probably raced on the wrong side of the track when beaten favourite again when last seen in February. Still amongst the standard setters if able to bounce back.
Wiltshire
Much improved on the back of a breathing operation (also tongue tied) when landing 14-runner C&D handicap on Good Friday. Couldn't back that up returned to turf when eleventh of 14 in handicap at Newbury (6f, good) 42 days ago but looks worth this place at this level back on tapeta.
Zoum Zoum
Smart sprinter who was runner-up at listed level 3 times in 2025, including on his last 2 starts of the campaign. Failed to add to good record fresh when down the field at Salisbury on return, though, so will need to bounce back.
Heavenly Heather
C&D winner who has been progressive in handicaps, running a cracker when second of 12 to Jakajaro at York's Dante Meeting and seemed to excel herself at the highest level when 1½ lengths sixth of 26 to Mission Central in King Charles III Stakes at Royal Ascot (5f) 11 days ago.
