FIVETHOUSANDTOONE has an excellent record over C&D, including when winning this last year, so he looks the value call over progressive 4-y-os Power Fizz and Tuco Salamanca.

Timeform Comments

Cool Hoof Luke
Lightly raced but smart performer who won the Gimcrack as a juvenile. Missed all of 2025 but shaped as if retaining all ability when winning listed race at Wolverhampton in March. Ran poorly at York next time but went off too hard in listed race at Salisbury since.
Fahrenheit Seven
Had taken his form up a notch for current trainer, winning back-to-back on all-weather first 2 starts this year. Disappointed back on turf since, though (too bad to be true last time), so bit to prove now despite return to this surface.
Caburn (IRE)
Dual winner as a juvenile and back on scoreboard in small field at Yarmouth final start last year. Good third in Doncaster listed event (6f) in March but ran poorly back in a handicap at Haydock since.
Pocklington
Finally gained a first handicap success at Southwell on New Year's Day and followed that up with excellent second over C&D on New Year's Day. Not at best next 2 starts after a break but had excuses so no surprise if he bounced back.
Annaf (IRE)
Excellent second in the Chipchase at this meeting last year and ended 2025 when winning Ascot Group 3 for second time in 3 years. However, just the one decent effort so far in 2026 so needs to raise his game.
Fivethousandtoone (IRE)
Three-time C&D winner, including this race a year ago off 3 lb lower. Winless since but has placed 3 times this season, including when good second (clear of rest) over C&D in April. Couldn't capitalise on lower turf marks since but remains of interest back on this surface.
Tuco Salamanca (IRE)
Enjoyed a productive 2025, winning 5 times including back-to-back victories in Racing League events during the summer. Better than ever at Kempton on return but unable to back that up at York since. Worth another chance back on all-weather.
Power Fizz (IRE)
Progressive sort who defied a 10-month absence in good style over C&D in March. Off since but this low-mileage sort almost certainly has more to offer.
Knebworth
Ended 2025 out of form but better than ever this winter, scoring at Chelmsford City before following up at Wolverhampton. Good second to Tuco Salamanca at Kempton when last seen in March.
The Caltonian
Landed fourth C&D success in January but very disappointing back here next 2 starts.
Topwarrior
Developed into a useful sprinter in 2025, winning twice, including showing marked improvement for the addition of blinkers in 18-runner handicap at Newbury (heavy) final start. Probably needed comeback run at Epsom and headgear is back on now.
Rapper's Delight
Impressive when landing the odds in Southwell novice in September. Mixed record in handicaps at Meydan early this year and has worth to do off current mark in a change of headgear.
Al Najashi
Rapidly progressive on all-weather, completing 5-timer when comfortably seeing off 13 rivals over C&D on Good Friday. Failed to transfer that back to turf last time and much higher in the weights now but still worthy of respect back on this surface.
Strike Red (IRE)
Excellent record in big handicaps over the years and was runner-up in Stewards' Cup at Goodwood last season. Built on reappearance when returning to winning ways at Leicester in April and shaped as if back in form at Epsom 3 weeks ago.
