Snapped a long losing run when winning 7-runner handicap at Ripon 11 days ago, well served by the sound gallop and beating Qitaal by a head. A 3 lb rise leaves him well treated on old form, but consistency has long since been an issue for him.
Shimmering Sands
Ended a 3-year barren run when winning 11-runner C&D handicap 21 days ago, racing freely but getting up on the line. A 4 lb rise looks manageable on past form and stable have won 3 of the last 4 renewals of this race. Bold bid anticipated under good amateur.
Sandret (IRE)
Revived for this yard last season, winning at Redcar and Thirsk. Made a satisfactory return from 10 months off when 11¼ lengths sixth of 13 to Pentonville at Wolverhampton 13 days ago and entitled to step forward now, with the stable having already enjoyed plenty of success this month.
Tees George
Enhanced excellent record at Beverley when winning 9-runner event there in April, well on top finish. Bounced back from disappointing effort when 2½ lengths fourth of 11 to Mwafaq at Hamilton last time, but remains winless from a mark in the 60s and can on occasion flatter to deceive.
Princess Niyla
Without a win since last spring but arrives in decent heart, not disgraced when 3¼ lengths fifth of 11 to Shimmering Sands at this course last time. Meets that rival on better terms but her keen-going nature often leaves her vulnerable to stronger finishers.
Star Start (IRE)
Back-to-back winner over 1¼m last summer, including in a similar event over C&D. Hinted at a revival when third of 9 in 1m handicap here in April but failed to build on that promise at Leicester 10 days later. Has had a breathing operation since and he's well handicapped should he react positively.
Ephron (IRE)
Made successful handicap debut in 1m Redcar contest on return in April and resumed progress when 1½ lengths second of 10 to Unchartedterritory in 9f handicap at Carlisle 20 days ago. Obvious claims if lasting out over the longer trip.
Wrist Art (IRE)
Losing sequence is mounting up but ran better than for a while when 2¼ lengths third of 6 to Pentonville at Brighton 8 days ago. More needed if he's to be competitive here, though.
