Timeform View

A drop to a stiff 5f proved right up DREAM DEAL's street at Beverley and he might go in again if in similar form. Queen Sana is holding her form well but may have to settle for second again. April's all-the-way C&D scorer Betweenthesticks is well drawn to readopt front-running tactics and could also play a prominent role.

Timeform Comments

Betweenthesticks
Started the season in top form, winning at Wolverhampton and over C&D (good; made all) in April. Also runner-up at Ripon in May and has had possible excuses when below par on last 2 outings. Well drawn for a front runner.
Hover On The Wind (IRE)
Ended 2025 with success at Newcastle (5f) in December. Has matched that form only once this year but has dropped to 2 lb below the mark he defied at Newcastle as a result.
Queen Sana
Runner-up on her last 3 starts, latterly a C&D handicap under Danny Tudhope. Likely to be on the premises yet again.
Dream Deal
Dual 6f scorer last season and back to winning ways over 5f at Beverley 13 days ago, coming with a strong run from off the pace to be well on top at the finish. A 6 lb rise may not stop him if in the same mood.
Knicks (IRE)
Hasn't won for a long time but his mark reflects that and he turned in his best effort of the season minus cheekpieces when a close third over C&D earlier in the month. A subsequent Thirsk run was less encouraging, though.
Soca Star (IRE)
Back from 6 months off with a very good second of 8 in handicap at Catterick (5f) in April but didn't look to put it all in (not for the first time) when only fifth at Redcar since.
Lucius Aurelius
Returned to his best when belatedly off the mark at Catterick (5f, good to firm) in April. Ran abysmally here next time but latest third back at Catterick shows he's still in form. First-time blinkers replace cheekpieces.
Without Flaw (IRE)
A dual 5f winner at Beverley last summer. Returned with an encouraging Wetherby third but hasn't backed it up twice since.
