Timeform View

Gavin Cromwell could hold the key to this maiden chase, with IN THE TRENCHES narrowly preferred to Sophia Rose given he finally got his head in front over hurdles recently. Rockonliam is a dual winner over the smaller obstacles and looks another key player.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Sophia Rose traded at 10% or less of Betfair SP, 25% or less of Betfair SP and 50% or less of Betfair SP on 3 of its last 5 starts: Drop A Threat has traded at 50% or less of Betfair SP 3 times on its last 5 starts.

Timeform Comments

Ballyearl (FR)
Fair winner at 17f over hurdles. Tongue tie goes on for chase debut back from 11 months off.
Drop A Threat (IRE)
Fair hurdler who has become disappointing, folding tamely over fences last 2 starts.
In The Trenches
In good form and finally got off the mark in 19f Downpatrick novice hurdle a fortnight ago. Has shown enough over fences to think he can win a race like this, too.
Jetovango (IRE)
Showed a bit more when third in 19f Kilbeggan maiden hurdle last summer but well beaten in Ballinrobe handicap hurdle next time. Cheekpieces tried now sent chasing on the back of a couple of point runs more recently (pulled up latest).
Juke Hill (IRE)
Point runner-up who has shown a bit over hurdles, including in 3m Punchestown handicap 3 weeks ago. Blinkers replace cheekpieces for chase debut.
Kashchei
Left with a simple task as he opened his account in 21f Kelso novice hurdle 8 weeks ago. More will be needed now sent chasing but he's bred for the job.
Malbas
Veteran who was given a considerate introduction to chasing on reappearance but has run poorly in 2 handicap hurdles since. Hard to fancy on these terms.
Ned In The Park (IRE)
Fair winning hurdler who ran well again at Clonmel earlier this month and is the type to do better over fences. Could be interesting if getting his own way in front.
Paul Collins (IRE)
Won a Galway handicap hurdle in October and presumably has the Festival next month as his immediate target. Well beaten on only previous go over fences.
Rockonliam (IRE)
Made a winning return over hurdles at Listowel last month, looking more professional than has sometimes been the case. Could build on that now chasing and one to consider.
Silver Salute (IRE)
Modest hurdler well beaten in a maiden back from 4 months off at Kilbeggan and has work to do on chase debut.
Clody Diamond (IRE)
Point winner who has run to a fair level over hurdles, not disgraced when fourth on handicap debut at Down Royal (17f) in January. Could do better now attentions turn to chasing fitted with a hood.
Rockstown Girl (IRE)
Fair hurdler/chaser who continues in good heart and has place claims at least again back over fences.
Sophia Rose (IRE)
Fair chaser who ran well back in a handicap when second at Killarney 7 weeks ago, going down fighting. Can surely open her account in this sphere before long.
Listentillitellyea (IRE)
Ran well in listed handicap chases at Fairyhouse and Punchestown in spring 2025 but hasn't shown a great deal since taking a heavy fall at the Galway Festival subsequently. RESERVE.
Burru (IRE)
Justified support in Killarney handicap hurdle last month but unable to lead and well beaten at Ballinrobe next time. At a similar level over fences, placed twice in handicaps last season. RESERVE.
