Timeform View

BIG TIME RASCAL finished behind Washington Heir here 3 weeks ago but that rival was seen to better advantage and given the overall profile of both, he can come out on top this time. Bigger threats may emerge in the shape of Valsharah and Saeculamation given they tackle classified company for the first time.

Timeform Comments

Apple's Angel (IRE)
Three-time all-weather winner who ran poorly on final start for Simon Dow in September and could hardly have displayed less both starts for Jim Boyle.
Battle Point (IRE)
Well held last 3 starts and his overall strike rate (1-51) makes him one to oppose.
Big Time Rascal
Caused a surprise when shedding maiden tag in a C&D handicap last May. Confirmed himself back in form with a pair of runner-up efforts in handicap company and wasn't seen to best effect behind Washington Heir back here in this grade 3 weeks ago. Major player.
Coast
Showed more than previously this year when third over 5.5f here in May and suggested she remains in form without being seen to best effect in the closing stages when sixth at Bath a week later. Harder to find an excuse for latest run, however.
Lynwood Lad
Won here last summer and fared a bit better than of late with the visor left off when fourth in a classified event at Wolverhampton. Pulled too hard over C&D last month but shaped as though back in form behind Washington Heir 3 weeks ago.
Manhattan Chute (IRE)
Sprung a 50/1 surprise at Lingfield in January but hasn't beaten a rival in his 5 outings since.
Port Hedland
More miss than hit this season but bounced back right to best when winning 9-runner classified race at Bath 3 weeks ago. Repeat of that will see him involved.
Valsharah (IRE)
Free-going sort who is a long-standing maiden (record stands at 0-25). Arrives in reasonable heart in the context of this race and will be having a first go in classified company. Should be involved back down in distance.
Washington Heir
Markedly surpassed previous form when springing a surprise in 8-runner classified event at this course (5.5f) 3 weeks ago. Task is to now back that up.
Frankali
Made the frame in 2 of her first 3 starts in handicap company but disappointing since. Blinkers need to galvanise her.
Lesley Buckley (IRE)
Yet to achieve anything of note, third of 4 in a weak handicap at Lingfield 12 days ago.
Saeculamation (IRE)
Opened his account at Chelmsford (6f) in December. Several solid efforts in handicaps since, albeit latest run over C&D 3 weeks ago wasn't one of them. Debut in this company.
