Timeform View

CISTERNA has shaped well on both starts since her Roscommon success and is taken to resume winning ways with a good-value claimer on board. KC Bear rates a danger on current form, with Hippology interesting on handicap debut given how well his early form has worked out.

Timeform Comments

Only One Scobie (IRE)
Proved an entirely different proposition under a change of tactics when easily winning a 1m Leopardstown handicap earlier this month and backed that up despite doing too much too soon when 2¾ lengths third of 12 to Meriden there 20 days ago. Place claims.
Fortuity (IRE)
Career best when winning 13-runner handicap at Fairyhouse (7f) in May but could only finish last of 6 reverting to more patient tactics in a similar event at Limerick 12 days ago. Needs to bounce back.
Hippology
Showed promise when 5 lengths fifth of 13 to Sugar Goodson in maiden at Navan on debut. That race worked out and though well below that form in both starts since, he's worth another chance to progress now tackling a handicap.
Avec Grand Plaisir (FR)
Improved for the switch to handicaps when 4½ lengths third of 12 to Hambelton at Cork 17 days ago despite still looking rough around the edges. Claims if building on that.
John La Bear (IRE)
Stepped up on previous efforts when winning 11-runner handicap at Dundalk last time, beating Mo Anam Chara by 1¼ lengths. Needs to transfer that progress back to the turf following an absence.
Love Orchid (IRE)
Lightly-raced maiden that hasn't kicked on in handicaps this year. Blinkers go on for 1st time.
Jp's Express (IRE)
Showed fair form on debut but has gone the wrong way since, finishing well held in handicaps last 2 starts.
Kc Bear (IRE)
Won at Dundalk (6f) in December and has run well in defeat both starts since, posting a career best when 2¼ lengths fourth of 13 to Fortuity in 7f event at this course on latest.
Kirkland Sioux (IRE)
Has shaped with encouragement without pulling up any trees in maidens/handicap, looking stretched by the 1½m trip when 8¾ lengths seventh of 16 to Lord Aus in latter event at Limerick last time. One to consider back down in trip.
Avoca Woods
Sea The Moon colt who went the wrong way in maidens and need to improve markedly to feature on handicap bow.
Cisterna (IRE)
Improved effort when comfortably winning a 14-runner handicap at Roscommon (7.5f, good) last month. Has shaped as if still in good form since, leaving the impression he should have finished closer when 6¾ lengths fifth of 12 to Hambelton at Cork last time. Good-value claimer booked.
Make The Tide (IRE)
No better than mid-field in 3 maidens but looks the type to do better now tackling a handicap.
Retro Gal
Went with a tad more promise when 10¾ lengths eighth of 16 to Lord Aus in handicap at Limerick 21 days ago, though will need to progress further to trouble the judge off her current mark.
Dawn Flame
Showed improved form to get off the mark in Dundalk handicap (1m) in January. Tried over a variety of trips and proved disappointing since, however.
Schoolyard Days (IRE)
Modest maiden that has finished no better than mid-division in varied events.
