Timeform View

DREAM COMPOSER has made an excellent start for Tony Carroll, battling well for his recent success at Windsor, and he remains well treated on old form. He looks capable of defying a penalty at the expense of the 3-y-os in the line-up, Amazing Journey feared most ahead of Goldwork.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

This could develop into a sprint for home, and Goldwork could be well placed to capitalise: Of the better-fancied horses, Amazing Journey is most likely to be ridden furthest from the pace.

Timeform Comments

Desert Cop
Making only second start in cheekpieces, ended a long losing run in 10-runner handicap at Windsor 4 days ago, overcoming another slow start. Not obvious follow-up candidate under a penalty.
Dream Composer (FR)
Successful in the Dash here in 2024 for James Evans and has won twice from 4 starts for his new yard this season (not ideally drawn in latest renewal of the Dash), showing a good attitude when scoring at Windsor 9 days ago. Rare start at 6f, but can make a bold bid under a penalty.
Amazing Journey (IRE)
Regular slow starter but has improved this year since being gelded, getting back to winning ways in 8-runner handicap at Kempton 3 weeks ago. Will need things to drop right such is his style, but has to be taken seriously up against his elders for the first time.
Independent Expert (IRE)
Bounced back to form when scoring over 7f at Naas in March but hasn't gone on from that effort since, only fifth of 10 in claimer at Dundalk (1m) 5 weeks ago. Drops back in trip with headgear left off as he makes first start since leaving Denis Hogan.
Havana Rum (IRE)
Dual winner in 2025 and good second at Pontefract (5f) on this season's return. However, he hasn't built on that in 3 subsequent outings, looking unsuited by the track when fifth of 10 at Chester (6f) 18 days ago on the last of them.
Sir Garfield (IRE)
Three-time winner last year and, after 5-month absence, looked better than ever when adding to his tally in 9-runner handicap at Catterick in April. Yet to win off a mark this high, though.
Goldwork
Got back on the up when third in a Kempton handicap on reappearance and, after a lesser effort over 7f, soon returned to form when third of 9 at Newmarket (6f) 11 days ago, faring best of those that raced far side. Enters calculations.
Mumayaz (IRE)
Rejoined this yard from James Owen in March. Easy winner at Leicester in May and, after a below-par run just 5 days later, got back on track when third of 9 returned to Leicester 18 days ago. Turned in another respectable effort at Windsor on Monday evening but place claims at best once again.
