Timeform 1-2-3

  1. Latopix (FR)

  2. Open Approach (IRE)

  3. Freddie's Back (IRE)

Timeform View

LATOPIX shaped well when second at Punchestown last time and can go one place better at the expense of Gordon Elliott's Open Approach, who kept on promisingly for fourth at Downpatrick recently. Freddie's Back and Jack Owen Jack are others likely to have a say.

Timeform Comments

Boomerang Breeze (IRE)
Alkaadhem gelding. Half-brother to 4 winners, including fairly useful hurdler Queen of Cool and fairly useful hurdler All That Remains. The betting should guide to expectations with this newcomer.
Calzaghi (IRE)
Fairly useful Flat winner but only mid-division in 2 maiden hurdles this season and might be more one for handicaps after this.
Capri Gear (IRE)
Ninth of 15 in maiden hurdle at Ballinrobe (2m, good to soft, 7/1) on debut 37 days ago. Best watched unless the betting hints that improvement is anticipated.
Denham Rock (IRE)
Considerately handled when mid-field in 3 starts under Rules. Steps up in trip here but likely more one for handicaps after this.
Freddie's Back (IRE)
Winning pointer who showed fair form when reaching the frame in a pair of course maidens on heavy ground last season. Likely to be in the mix back from 102 days off.
Goodmancon (IRE)
Placed on the first of 2 starts over hurdles but had plenty of tries in bumpers and is vulnerable from a win point of view.
Jack Owen Jack (IRE)
Fair form when placed in 19f bumpers at Cork and Kilbeggan and ran to a a similar level when 4 lenghths third on hurdling debut at Listowel (2½m, good to soft) 33 days ago. Enters calculations in a refitted tongue strap under Danny Mullins.
Lord Lackendarra (IRE)
Modest maiden in bumpers/over hurdles. Vulnerable in this company.
No Mon No Fun (IRE)
Failed to complete both starts in points ahead of this switch to hurdles with a tongue tie fitted.
Riverstown Boy (IRE)
Maiden pointer. 80/1, ran to a barely modest level when around 21 lengths fifh of 15 in maiden hurdle at Clonmel (17f, good) on Rules debut 27 days ago. Up in trip.
Rusty Finure (IRE)
No show in 3 bumpers (off 17 months before latest 31 days ago). Outsider on hurdle debut.
Siege Of Carthage (IRE)
Made no impact in a point but offered something to work with when a distant second to a good prospect on bumper debut at Gowran (2¼m, heavy) in February. Only fifth in a Wexford bumper 12 weeks later but retains potential now hurdling.
Venture Maximus (IRE)
Mahler gelding. Dam (h67) lightly raced in bumpers/over hurdles. A watching brief is advised on debut.
Open Approach (IRE)
28/1, fourth of 12 in maiden hurdle at Downpatrick (2¾m, good to firm) 18 days ago, finishing with running left. Capable of better to top yard.
Becca Sommers (IRE)
22/1, remote fourth of 15 in maiden hurdle at this course (2½m, soft) on debut 35 days ago.
Latopix (FR)
Bumper winner. Best effort over hurdles when second of 18 in maiden at Punchestown (2¾m, good) 25 days ago, despite pulling hard. This slightly shorter trip could be ideal. Good form shout.
Secret Moon (IRE)
Last of 6 finishers sole start in points (May 4). Likely outsider on hurdle debut.
Torque De Lune (IRE)
Showed a lot more than previously when fourth of 10 in maiden hurdle at Downpatrick (19f, good to firm) 19 days ago, the longer trip suiting. Needs to take another step forward now.
Gc Star Speed (IRE)
Lucky Speed mare. Half-sister to modest 2m hurdle winnerr Saratoga Lass. Dam unraced sister to bumper winner/useful hurdler (stayed 2½m) Grangeclare Lark. RESERVE.
Matcho D'agrostis (FR)
Tailed off her on her completed start over hurdles. RESERVE.
Mambo Du Large (FR)
125/1, seventh of 17 in maiden hurdle at Clonmel (17f, good) on debut 27 days ago. Up in trip. RESERVE.
