Timeform View

THE UBERMENSCH shaped well when runner-up at Newcastle last week and can gain an overdue first success turned out again off the same mark. Hibernate can rebound from a lesser run at Beverley and give Michael Bell's charge most to do.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

The Ubermensch traded at a low of 4.90 and Betfair SP of 5.91 when losing last time, a race in which it raced towards the rear.

Timeform Comments

Pleasant Man
Veteran who got off the mark for the season in 6-runner handicap at Doncaster (1½m, good to firm, 3/1) 12 days ago. However, it was a weak race he controlled from the front and there's a suspicion even a 3 lb rise could leave him vulnerable.
Hibernate (IRE)
Made all over 9f here in April and improved again to defy a 4 lb rise at Bath (11.6f, good) 12 days later. Disappointed on his Beverley hat-trick bid 5 weeks ago but the type to bounce back.
Currumbin (IRE)
All Flat wins on all-weather but landed a maiden hurdle on the grass last summer. Probably needed run when twelfth of 13 on 1¼m course return 12 weeks ago and this return to a longer trip should suit.
The Ubermensch (GER)
Has made the frame upped to middle distances last 4 starts, best run when second of 13 in amateur riders handicap at Newcastle (1¼m) 6 days ago, left with too much to do. Good chance off the same mark.
