Timeform View

TOPAZ ran a cracker first time up when going down narrowly at Newmarket and with her subsequent Albany effort easy to put a line through, Jack Channon's filly is fancied to make it third time lucky at the expense of Avalon Queen, who has a smart pedigree and shaped with plenty of encouragement on debut here last month. Of the newcomers, Marsala, Art of Life and Nuit d'Eclair make most appeal before the benefit of market clues.

Timeform Comments

Art Of Life
Foaled March 4. 70,000 gns yearling, Palace Pier filly. Half-sister to several winners, including 2-y-o 1m winner Genealogy and 5f winner Pianoforte. Dam 2-y-o 6f winner who stayed 1¼m. Yard's record this season with 2-y-o debutants 4 from 16.
Avalon Queen
Masar filly who shaped with plenty of encouragement starting out at trip that'll be an absolute minimum when fourth of 12 in maiden at this course (6.5f, firm) on debut last month. Bit surprising to see her dropped to a bare 6f but sure to progress nonetheless.
Bymiddaytomorrow (IRE)
Mehmas filly who did a bit better with debut under belt when fifth of 10 in novice at Windsor (6f, good to soft) last month.
Fillipas (IRE)
Coulsty filly who ran to a fair level when second of 5 in novice at Bath (5f, good) on debut just under 3 weeks ago. Entitled to do better with that experience under her belt.
Gravastar
Tasleet filly who showed ability amidst greenness when fourth of 8 in maiden at Goodwood (6f, heavy) on debut just under 3 weeks ago, late headway. Should improve on that initial effort here.
Kiah (IRE)
Foaled March 26. 38,000 gns yearling, Australia filly. Sister to useful 2-y-o 1¼m winner Anzac Day and half-sister to several winners, including 10.4f-1½m winner Merveillo and 11f winner Ouezy, both useful.
Lola De Valence (IRE)
Foaled March 31. Havana Grey filly. Half-sister to useful 7f winner Back In Black. Dam, 2-y-o 7f winner, half-sister to smart winner up to 1m Awesometank. More likely to be one for down the line.
Marsala (IRE)
Foaled March 15. Mehmas filly. Half-sister to useful winner up to 7f Palmar Bay. Dam, 7f winner (including at 2 yrs), sister to very smart winner up to 11f Dibayani. Yard's record this season with 2-y-o debutants 4 from 14.
Nuit D'eclair (IRE)
Foaled May 2. 280,000 gns yearling, Night of Thunder filly. Half-sister to 3 winners, including useful 2-y-o 5f/6f winner Attagirl and 2-y-o 7f winner Skiathos. Dam, 2-y-o 5f/6f winner, half-sister to useful 2-y-o 5f winner Mr Scarlet. Yard's record this season with 2-y-o debutants 2 from 11.
Parvenue Star (IRE)
Foaled April 6. 12,000 gns foal, 62,000 gns yearling, Starman filly. Half-sister to winner up to 1¼m Into Battle. Dam unraced half-sister to smart 1¼m-2m winner Johann Zoffany. Yard's record this season with 2-y-o debutants 5 from 33 at the time of writing.
Perfect Hope
Perfect Power filly who hinted at ability when sixth of 10 in novice at Windsor (6f, good to soft) on debut last month. Big step forward needed.
Royal Message (IRE)
No Nay Never filly who was too green to land much of a blow first time up when fifth of 8 in maiden at Leicester (6f, firm) just over 5 weeks ago, plugging on having been outpaced halfway. Open to improvement.
Spirit Of Progress (IRE)
Foaled January 31. 5,000 gns foal, Showcasing filly. Dam 1m-1½m winner. Stable a very unlikely source of 2-y-o winners.
Topaz (IRE)
Persian Force filly who shaped well first time up when second to Jolivette at Newmarket in May, albeit flattered a touch by her proximity. Not seen to best effect in Albany at Royal Ascot (6f, good to firm) last time and remains with potential back in much calmer waters.
