Timeform View

Irish raider ALASKAN BEAR may well be able to get off the mark with his sights lowered. Jimtrott can certainly make a race of it, though, while it'll probably take an above-average newcomer to land a serious blow.

Timeform Comments

Alaskan Bear (IRE)
Expensive Kodiac colt from Irish yard that is 2 from 3 with runners at this course. Improved from debut when 3¼-lengths fourth in Group 3 Marble Hill Stakes at the Curragh. He still holds an entry in a Group 1 and has strong claims to get off the mark back in a maiden.
Coatimundi (IRE)
Foaled January 30. €45,000 foal, €68,000 yearling, Cotai Glory colt. Half-brother to winner up to 1m Fred On Fire. Dam, 1½m winner, half-sister to smart winner up to 1½m Ennistown out of smart 2-y-o 6f/7f winner Saoirse Abu. Market typically a good guide for yard's newcomers.
Hackpen Hill (IRE)
Foaled January 22. 75,000 gns yearling, Sioux Nation colt. Dam lightly raced out of smart winner up to 9.5f (2-y-o 7f/1m winner who stayed 1½m) Jack Naylor, herself runner-up in Irish Oaks. Looks the stable second string.
Jimtrott (IRE)
110,000 gns No Nay Never colt. Produced a promising first effort behind Group 1-entered rival in a C&D novice 3 weeks ago. Will improve and looks sure to run another big race.
Magi Melchior
Foaled February 10. £45,000 yearling, Kodiac colt. Dam unraced half-sister to winner up to 1m New Kingdom and 1m winner (stays 10.5f) Archivist (both smart) out of useful 7f/1m winner (stayed 1¼m) Provenance. Yard excellent with juveniles and more than capable of readying one first time up.
Noahs Gold
Foaled March 15. Time Test gelding. Half-brother to 2-y-o 7.4f winner Torbay. Dam winner up to 7f (2-y-o 6f winner). Bred to make an impact as a juvenile but is a rare juvenile runner for primarily jumps yard.
Off The Peg (IRE)
60,000 foal, 150,000 yearling. No Nay Never colt. Brother to useful 2-y-o 5f winner His Majesty and half-brother to 6f (including at 2 yrs) winner Coill Avon. Dam winner up to 1m (Park Express Stakes and also 2-y-o 6f winner). Interesting newcomer, especially if supported.
Pride Of Toledo (IRE)
Foaled January 14. £100,000 yearling, No Nay Never colt. Half-brother to 3 winners, including useful 2-y-o 5f/6f winner Aloha Star and 6f winner Eye Smiling. Makes some appeal on paper and stable no stranger to first-time out success.
Secano
Foaled March 25. 36,000 gns foal, 80,000 gns yearling. Twilight Son colt. Brother to useful 7.4f-1½m winner Brayden Star and 7f-1½m winner Prince Ali, and closely related to winner up to 8.6f Gleaming Girl (2-y-o 7f winner). Yard's debutants typically better for a run.
Shakwaa
Foaled March 2. 90,000 foal, 210,000 yearling. Golden Pal colt. Dam, 1m/9f winner, half-sister to useful winner up to 5.5f Air Force Jet out of smart winner up to 5f (including at 2 yrs) Wind Fire, herself sister to US Grade 1 2-y-o 7f winner Majestic Warrior. Appealing newcomer from a good yard.
Tumishi
Expensive breeze-up purchase. Expected to improve on his debut fourth at Nottingham (6f), but it'll need to be a significant step forward now pitched into a deeper maiden.
