Timeform View

WINCHURCH looks well handicapped on old pieces of form and appeals most in what isn't a deep race. Muker has yet to kick on this season but could see a revival dropped markedly in grade, while Spirit of Applause can take a step forward with the reappearance under his belt.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

In a race that lacks confirmed pace-forcers, Beaumadier could get the run of things: Of the better-fancied horses, Winchurch is most likely to be ridden furthest from the pace.

Timeform Comments

Winchurch (IRE)
Capitalised on a career-low mark at this course over 6f in April and proved better than ever when doubling his tally for the season at Catterick (5f) in June. Is best not judged on his latest outing here and can give another good account from what is still a handy mark.
Sam's Hope
Successful 5 times on all-weather during the autumn/winter, including back-to-back 5f victories at Southwell in January. Wasn't disgraced back on turf when ninth of 17 in handicap (40/1) at Ascot (5f, good to firm) when last seen in May. Steps back down in grade but may just need this outing.
Muker (IRE)
Usually takes a couple of runs to get going but he's not gone on in 3 outings since his C&D reappearance. This marked drop in grade should be a big help.
Beaumadier (IRE)
Won twice over 5f at Wolverhampton over the winter but followed his latest success in February with some lesser efforts. Bounced back to form following a 3-month break when a good third at Thirsk (5f, good, 40/1) 16 days ago but is yet to win off a mark this high.
Miss Brazen
Capitalised on a sliding mark over C&D in April following a 6-month break and backed up that performance when a close third at Beverley next time. Has been let down by her starts the last twice and that has to be a worry.
Spirit Of Applause
Sole success last year came over this distance at Southwell. Refitted with cheekpieces and returning from 7 months off when respectable fourth in handicap at Beverley (5f, good to firm, 22/1) 16 days ago. Should come on for that outing and market best guide.
Hurt You Never (IRE)
Tasted success 4 times over 5f last year, including over C&D, but has struggled for consistency since the last of those, well beaten on her last 2 starts. Hard to make case for at present, even from a falling mark.
