Timeform View

BRAZEN IDOL bounced back to form when staying on well for second at Ffos Las 9 days ago and, with the return to 6f in his favour, he is taken to land a third C&D success. The main danger could be Initial Blue, who is respected having won twice here this year, with Diamond Dreamer another to consider from a handy mark.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Brazen Idol traded at 25% or less of Betfair SP and 50% or less of Betfair SP on 2 of its last 4 starts: Massimo Blue traded at 25% or less of Betfair SP and 50% or less of Betfair SP on 2 of its last 5 starts.

All 3 wins over 7f here in 2024 for previous trainer. Placed twice on turf for current yard last year, but went backwards from this season's return when well held on testing ground at Salisbury 23 days ago. Blinkers now the choice of headgear.
Brazen Idol
Shaped as if retaining all his ability after 23-month absence when runner-up on stable debut over this C&D in March. After a couple of lesser efforts, bounced back when going close over 5f at Ffos Las 9 days ago and return to this trip should suit. Major player.
Travel Agent (IRE)
Has improved for new yard this year, recording back-to-back wins on the all-weather in April. Run of good form has come to a halt the last twice, though lost all chance at the start when well held dropped to 5f at Yarmouth 3 weeks ago.
Invincible Speed (IRE)
Has found some consistency since scoring on the polytrack at Lingfield in January, making the frame next 4 outings including when runner-up on turf at the same venue in May. Not disgraced on testing conditions when mid-field at Salisbury 23 days ago.
Serenity Dream (IRE)
C&D winner in January and placed twice here since. Ran to a similar level on turf when fifth of 18 at Ascot in May, before a below-par effort back up to 7f on soft ground at Goodwood 25 days ago. Could fare better back at this venue.
Dannick
Remains a maiden and has yet to recapture the pick of last season's form in 3 starts this year, in first-time cheekpieces when last of 8 at Goodwood (7f, soft) 25 days ago. Now switches to a visor, but others more persuasive at present.
Giorgio M (IRE)
Successful on second run for this yard at Lingfield (7f) in December and made the frame twice early this year. However, has been below form on his last 3 starts, dropped back to 6f when seventh of 12 at Wolverhampton in June.
Initial Blue (IRE)
Successful twice over C&D for current yard this year, with latest success in April. Has placed on all-weather last 2 starts, despite suffering interference when third of 12 at Wolverhampton last time. Can make his presence felt.
Express Train (IRE)
Winner of a Leicester novice last summer but form has been mixed since, following a better effort with a poor one when ninth of 12 in handicap at Southwell (7f) in January. Off since ahead of first run since leaving Andrew Balding.
Massimo Blue
C&D maiden winner early last year and doubled his tally in a Southwell handicap in October. After 5 months off, possibly needed the run when fifth of 12 at Newbury 9 days ago. Cheekpieces now added but wide draw not ideal.
Diamond Dreamer
Returned to form back up to 6f when ¾-length third of 5 at Lingfield in April. Has had excuses over 5f the last twice, challenging widest of all when sixth of 7 back there on latest. Interesting from 5 lb below last winning mark.
Balon D'or
Fairly useful at best for Hugo Palmer. Yet to match that form for current yard, but fared better when fourth of 7 on the all-weather at Lingfield (5f) last time. Has widest draw to overcome, though, if he's to build on latest effort.
