Timeform View

Group 2 entrant BOLD COMMANDER showed ability whilst shaping as if in need of the experience when fifth in a Curragh maiden over further 6 weeks ago. In leading hands, he can find the requisite improvement and make it second time lucky. April Mist's debut second at Naas 9 days ago was a solid effort and she looks the danger, ahead of Tradewinds.

Timeform Comments

Bold Commander (IRE)
No Nay Never colt who has plenty of speed in his pedigree but shaped as if needing initial experience when fifth of 8 in a Curragh maiden (6f) 6 weeks ago, not unduly punished. Represents top connections and this Group 2 entrant is expected to do better.
Howlin Wolf (IRE)
Lacking for sharpness when well held seventh on debut at Navan (6f) in May and offered only a little more when filling same spot back at that venue (5f) 4 weeks ago. Nurseries promise to be more his bag after this.
New Mexico
105,000 gns purchase who did no better with his debut run under his belt when sixth of 7 in a heavy ground Curragh maiden (6f) in April. Gelded subsequently but another who will be more suited to nurseries moving forward.
Tradewinds (IRE)
€220,000 Wootton Bassett yearling from good family. Left debut form well behind when third of 13 in maiden at the Curragh (6f) but seemingly had no excuses when well held second at Down Royal (5f) 2 weeks ago. Still, can be expected to play a part in the finish.
Two Brigade (IRE)
Bred to make a speedy 2-y-o and having lost all chance at the start on debut, he did show ability when keeping on for fifth in a Naas maiden (6f) in May. Appeals as the type to do better still returning from a break.
Alrashdeyah (IRE)
Churchill filly who showed ability amidst inexperience when fourth on debut at Cork (6f, soft) in May but went backwards from that when down the field in 17-runner Fairyhouse maiden 3 weeks ago. Passed over with a first-time hood now reached for.
April Mist (IRE)
Cotai Glory filly who proved easy to back but made an encouraging start nevertheless when second in an 8-runner Naas maiden (5f) 9 days ago, meeting some trouble and keeping on under hands and heels riding. Looks sure to improve.
Little Diva (IRE)
Foaled February 20. €1,000 yearling (private sale), Magna Grecia filly. Dam unraced half-sister to 1m/9f winner Zaffinah and 2-y-o 5f winner Band Practice (both useful). Yard's first two-year-old runner of the season.
