  3. Captain Hanley (IRE)

Timeform View

SEVEN TOWERS shaped as though the step up in trip would suit when third on his hurdling debut and is selected to open his account. Newbrook Diamond looks the chief threat if able to rediscover his best, with Captain Hanley also likely to be thereabouts if putting in a clear round.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Seven Towers traded at a low of 2.50 and Betfair SP of 3.10 when losing last time, a race in which it raced in mid-field.

Timeform Comments

Captain Hanley (IRE)
Fair maiden at best up to 12.5f on the Flat and has taken well to hurdling, finishing second on both completed starts in maidens despite not being seen to best effect when 16 lengths behind Jerry From Kerry in 23.5f event at Punchestown last time. Drop back in trip won't be an issue.
Chasing Blues (IRE)
Failed to meet market expectations when eighth of 11 in bumper at Navan on debut and wore hood when slipped up between 4 out and 3 out in maiden hurdle at Killarney in May. Starts out for new connections.
Colwyn Bay (FR)
Showed a bit on belated debut when third in bumper at Clonmel in April but little promise from both starts since, including when failing to complete on hurdling debut last time.
Ellis Brittle (IRE)
Order of St George gelding. Dam ran twice in bumpers. Likely a longer-term prospect.
Fou De Toi (FR)
Hasn't gone on from stable debut/return last season and ran no sort of race when pulled up on handicap debut last time. Something to prove.
Great Entirely (IRE)
Showed a bit when sixth in maiden on hurdling debut at Wexford in April. Hasn't built on that in 2 starts since, but took a step back in right direction at least when 11½ lengths fifth of 12 to Silly Mongoose at Kilbeggan last time. Step back up in trip will suit but looks one for staying handicaps.
Lastofthenatives (IRE)
Half-brother to useful hurdler/smart chaser Shoegazer (2½m-25f winner, by Bach): dam unraced: little impact in 3 points.
Majestic Horizon (IRE)
Point winner improved on his debut form when third in a Downpatrick bumper on his latest start and could fare even better now sent hurdling over a longer trip.
Newbrook Diamond (IRE)
Placed 5 times over hurdles, showing fairly useful form at best, but below that level on last 2 starts. Sets the standard on pick of efforts but vulnerable to improvers.
Seven Towers (IRE)
Fair form when placed on 3 of 4 starts in bumpers and ran to a similar level when 5½ lengths third of 15 to Le Roi Du Livet in extended 2m maiden hurdle at Tramore in May. Will be suited by the step up to 2½m and looks sure to progress.
Tomthescaffolder
Small promise on first of 2 starts in bumpers, but shaped with a bit more encouragement when 7¾ lengths fourth of 17 to Minella Diamond in maiden at Clonmel on hurdling debut. Entitled to build on that.
Nile Star (FR)
Well beaten on all 3 starts in juvenile maiden hurdles.
Magical Sal (IRE)
Modest form at best in 3 bumpers (trained by Conor O'Keeffe first 2), shaping as if in need of a stiffer test, though went with no encouragement when down the field in 2¼m maiden at Downpatrick on hurdling bow.
Midnight Musical (IRE)
Made an encouraging bumper debut at Galway last August but most disappointing since and ran to just a poor level when 14½ lengths fifth of 16 to Look Sport in maiden at Kilbeggan on hurdling debut.
Rosie Brown (IRE)
Modest form at best in bumpers for Peter Maher and went with no encouragement on stable/hurdling debut last month. RESERVE.
Sea Feliz (IRE)
€19,000 3-y-o, Getaway mare. Half-sister to fairly useful hurdler Morricone. Dam, a bumper winner from successful NH family. Of obvious interest for top yard if getting a run. RESERVE.
Mind Eraser
£16,000 3-y-o: first foal: dam (c115/h100) 2m-3m hurdle/chase winner. Made frame on 2 of 3 starts in points in 2026. RESERVE.
