Charlie Johnston's 2025 Derby runner-up LAZY GRIFF made a promising return from a long absence when third in the Henry II Stakes over C&D in May and gets a confident vote to return to winning ways dropped into listed company here. Alan King's likeable Paradias appeals as the one to chase him home ahead of Furthur.

Timeform Comments

Duke Of Oxford
Useful gelding who landed back-to-back 2m handicaps during the winter, latterly at Newcastle in January. Stiff task back on turf when last of 7 in Henry II Stakes over C&D in May. Others are preferred.
Furthur (IRE)
Runner-up in 2025 Queen's Vase at Royal Ascot and also landed the Geoffrey Freer at Newbury later last summer. Below his best this season, though faced a stiff task in Gold Cup at Royal Ascot last time. This is easier, however.
Lazy Griff (GER)
Placed behind Lambourn all 3 starts last season, notably when second in Derby at Epsom and third in Irish Derby. Off 11 months but shaped well when third of 7 in Henry II Stakes over C&D 36 days ago. The one to beat.
Paradias (GER)
Has been a tremendous servant for connections and landed all-weather handicap at Lingfield (1½m) in February. Not disgraced when fifth of 7 (two places behind Lazy Griff) in Henry II Stakes over C&D last time so not out of things.
Lady Vivian (IRE)
Useful filly who was twice a winner at 1½m in 2025. Back on track with fourth of 11 in listed race at Baden-Baden (11f) 29 days ago. Has her stamina to prove here.
