Timeform View

This looks a good opportunity for COURT ALERT to belatedly get off the mark. The one most likely to spoil the party is well-bred newcomer Green Champion. Once-raced Courageous Sioux completes the shortlist.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Miracleoftheandes shouldn’t be inconvenienced if looking to adopt a prominent position: Despite a suspicion the pace will be sound, those held up such as Green Champion usually is are still likely to have their work cut out.

Timeform Comments

Court Alert (IRE)
Fairly useful runner-up in valuable sales race at Newmarket (6f) last summer. Below that form when fourth at Brighton (6f) second time up this season. Drop back to 5f in first-time blinkers looks interesting, and he's probably the one to beat in a weak race.
El Ghuwah (IRE)
60,000 gns foal, 1,000 gns 3-y-o, Mohaather gelding. Half-brother to 7f winner Gordon Norse. Dam, ran once in France at 2 yrs, out of useful 2-y-o 5f/6f winner Dolled Up. Doesn't look an obvious type on paper.
Green Champion (IRE)
Mehmas colt. Half-brother to smart winner up to 6f Queen Kindly. Dam, winning sprinter (including at 2 yrs), won Diadem/Lowther Stakes and runner-up in Sprint Cup/Prix de l'Abbaye de Longchamp. Owner has had plenty of success with this excellent sprint family. Could put up a bold show on debut.
Sugar Bon Bon (IRE)
Went backwards from his debut when trailing the field at Catterick last time.
Tide Runner (IRE)
Third in a weak 5f seller on debut at Beverley. Faced contrasting conditions when well beaten in maiden at Ayr (6f, soft) subsequently.
Courageous Sioux
Showed plenty to work on when fifth in a Thirsk novice on debut for Michael Appleby last April. Entitled to build on that, provided she's ready to roll on first start for the capable Clive Cox yard.
Mariselle (IRE)
€30,000 2-y-o, 5,000 gns 3-y-o, No Nay Never filly. Offered something to work on when fourth in a weak novice at Lingfield (6f) first time up.
Miracleoftheandes (IRE)
Free-going sort. Ran to a modest level in a pair of 6f events at Newbury last summer. Has undergone a breathing operation since, and she looks well worth a go over 5f given her pedigree/style.
Shego
Eqtidaar filly. Dam, placed at 5f-7f (including at 2 yrs), out of winning close relative of smart winner up to 1½m Come On Jonny. Worth a market check for stable that had a newcomer run well earlier this week.
