Timeform View

REGULUS BLACK is by far the most solid option in a race where few arrive with compelling form claims, although it wouldn't be a surprise were Roger Varian's Sound Gloria to improve now handicapping. Baldosa looks best of the rest.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Regulus Black traded at a low of 2.20 and Betfair SP of 2.42 when losing last time, a race in which it raced in mid-field.

Timeform Comments

Balmoral Boy (IRE)
No impact in a pair of 1m handicaps in recent months so needs this step up in trip to spark improvement.
Regulus Black
Struck at the second time of asking in handicaps when seeing off 7 rivals at Chepstow (1¼m, good to firm) in May. No extra late on when third over 11f at Hamilton since and this return to slightly shorter looks ideal. Leading claims.
Palace Artois
Palace Pier filly who hasn't looked one of her leading yard's many progressive sorts so far, including hinting at temperament. Tries a longer trip now.
Sound Gloria
Down the field in 3 qualifying runs around 1m but could prove a different proposition in a low-grade handicap, with this slightly longer trip expected to suit on pedigree.
Baldosa (IRE)
Maiden but was a creditable second of 13 in classified event at Newcastle (1¼m) last month and backed that up when fourth of 14 in handicap company at Wetherby (1¼m, good to firm) 19 days ago.
Alcanzor (IRE)
Well held in maiden/novice events but handicaps provide him with a more realistic chance.
Enduring Story
Has shown more temperament than ability so far.
