Timeform View

PERCY'S STAR hasn't looked totally straightforward, but he drew clear in the manner of one well ahead of his opening mark at Leicester last month and is taken to defy an 8 lb rise in the weights. Desert Treasure created a fine impression at 2 yrs and is well worth another chance to get back on the up having shaped as if needing the run on her reappearance at York in May. The hat-trick seeking Quantum Power completes the shortlist.

Timeform Comments

Kolkata Knight (IRE)
Dual juvenile winner who pushed a next-time-out scorer close at Wolverhampton (5.1f) on return. Caught wide from a high draw at Chester next time but had fewer excuses when again below form at Sandown last time. Bit to prove.
Zelaina
Expensive breeze-up buy looked an excellent prospect when scoring on debut at Nottingham in June 2025 and again showed bags of speed when eighth in the Queen Mary later that month. Well below par final 2 starts at 2 yrs but is entitled to have needed his recent reappearance at Royal Ascot.
Mighty Magnus (IRE)
Showed improved form to record a first handicap success at Musselburgh (5f) in June and not disgraced from a 5 lb higher mark in a stronger race at York since. Should remain competitive.
Wedonttelllies (IRE)
Progressive juvenile who doubled his career tally at Goodwood in May. Never really went with the same aplomb upped in grade at Epsom but wasted no time getting back on track when finishing a close third in 4-runner event back at Goodwood (5f, heavy) 22 days ago.
Desert Treasure
Unbeaten in 2 starts as a 2-y-o but had missed 10 months when 11th of 17 in a handicap at York in May and understandably shaped as if needing the run. Has a smart pedigree and well worth another chance for top yard.
Quantum Power (IRE)
Much improved of late, supplementing his C&D success in 7-runner handicap at Windsor (5f) last week, always holding on. Should remain competitive in hat-trick bid.
Percy's Star
Bred to stay further but clearly not short of speed and took a big step forward when making all in this headgear in good style at Leicester (5f) on handicap bow 26 days ago. Hit with an 8 lb rise but remains unexposed.
Ambishio (IRE)
Made a winning return at Southwell in January but followed a below-par run with an even worse one when down the field in 12-runner handicap at Thirsk (5f, good, 16/1) 34 days ago. Something to prove now.
