Timeform View

LANGHOLM benefited from the reapplication of headgear when scoring at Beverley last month and has been found a fairly limited contest for his follow-up bid. He gets the nod. Approaching Dawn and Abu Royal can also make their presence felt.

Timeform Comments

Abu Royal (IRE)
Has drawn a blank since his course maiden win for Charlie Johnston in 2023, though he ran one of his better recent races when third at Newcastle (1m) on penultimate start. Claims if in same form here.
Approaching Dawn (IRE)
Much improved when getting off the mark at Musselburgh last month and run creditably in defeat at same course since, latest when fourth of 7 in handicap over longer trip 5 days ago, not clear run final 1f. Expected to be bang there.
Bantz (IRE)
Twelve runs since last win in 2025 and no real signs of a revival for new yard this year, well beaten behind Langholm in handicap at Beverley latest.
Freak Encounter (IRE)
Poor nowadays and finished well held in a couple of starts last month.
Golden Valour
C&D winner but isn't the most reliable and has been below form this term.
Langholm (IRE)
Returned to form when narrowly landing 14-runner handicap over shorter trip at Beverley 19 days ago and looks a likely player here.
Millbuie
Long-standing maiden who turned in the best effort of his life when third of 13 in similar event at Newcastle (1¼m) last month. Nowhere near that level in handicap at Hamilton since, however, and makes limited appeal.
Trais Fluors
Often slow-starting veteran who hasn't been at his best since recording a fourth success at Newcastle earlier this year. Would be a player if able to break on terms.
Crystal Aurora (IRE)
Modest filly who was too keen after a slow start behind Langholm in handicap at Beverley (7.4f, good to firm, 12/1) last month, eventually finishing last home. Work to do.
Midnight Steppers (IRE)
Has shown more temperament than ability in maidens/minor events thus far but a drop in grade and first-time blinkers are possible catalysts for improvement.
Park Lane Penny (IRE)
No impact in a trio of starts thus far but is worth monitoring in the market on first start in classified company here.
Queenies Pal
Made little impact in varied events last season and fared no better in either start this year.
