A couple of Newmarket raiders may have this between them, with SLACK BOB narrowly preferred to Emery Down. Qazaq also makes appeal from his falling mark.

Timeform Comments

Abduction (FR)
Three-time C&D winner. Ran up to his best when third at Musselburgh 6 days ago. He was left with a tad much to do on that occasion and benefits from a slight ease in grade here.
The Gay Blade
Landed a hat-trick in a soft-ground C&D handicap last month. Wasn't disgraced off this mark at Musselburgh 6 days ago. Probably in the grip of the handicapper now.
Native Honey (IRE)
Both career wins have come over C&D (2-2). Arrives following a couple of lesser efforts, but he isn't totally discounted given his record here.
Eve's Boy
Without success since his win in a C&D novice in 2024. Well-backed second at Thirsk (1m) in April this year. Never looked like justifying his prominent market position on 2 most recent starts, though.
Ashen (IRE)
Off the mark at fourth attempt for current yard over C&D in May. Again ran well when 2-lengths third behind The Gay Blade here latest. Now 6 lb better off with that rival and going the right way for a very capable stable.
Blakefell (IRE)
Low-mileage 3-y-o. Successful in a 7f Musselburgh maiden on return. Continued solid start to the season with close third in a handicap there (9f) last time, and he ought to remain competitive back down in trip.
Qazaq (FR)
Winless spell for in-form yard has seen him fall a long way in the weights. Backed into favouritism when third at Musselburgh penultimate start. Had plenty go wrong in first-time blinkers (now discarded) at Beverley 3 days ago, and he looks worth another chance.
Slack Bob
Built on earlier promise when gaining a breakthrough win in all-weather handicap at Lingfield (7f) in May. Confirmed that improvement when third behind a couple of fellow in-form/progressive sorts at Newbury (1m) last time. He appeals most in a field of largely exposed rivals.
Keep Me Stable (IRE)
Course winner. Completed a Musselburgh hat-trick before finishing third over C&D last summer. Well beaten on reappearance, and she may still need this.
Born A Star (IRE)
Made all in 7f Musselburgh novice last summer. Headstrong ways have been holding him back in handicaps this season, though.
Emery Down
Sole success in 7f Kempton maiden last May. Shaped well both starts for current yard, latterly when well-backed fourth at Carlisle (1m). The way she travelled that day suggests return to 7f will be no issue. Expected to run a big race.
Whiskey Kisses (IRE)
Fair maiden for George Scott. Sold from that yard for only 6,500 gns, and she ran no sort of race in 6f handicap here on stable debut.
