The step up to 6f could see KEEP THE GOLD get off the mark. Ellie's De Vega and White Ladder also look interesting in a highly competitive sprint.

Timeform Comments

Henery Hawk
Solid enough third over 5f here penultimate start. Well held in a better race than he need contest on all-weather at Newcastle latest. Still seeking first success on turf (0-21).
Joshuas Dream
Only beaten head by now-useful sort in Hamilton maiden in 2024. Well beaten both handicap starts following significant absence. Market can guide down in grade with Paul Mulrennan returning following further 8 months off.
Keep The Gold
Low-mileage 4-y-o. Runner-up twice in handicaps (including here) and wasn't beaten far when fourth in 5f course handicap latest. Bred to be suited by step up in trip and holds leading claims in a wide-open sprint.
April Diamond (IRE)
Very lightly-raced 5-y-o from in-form yard. Improved effort when runner-up on handicap bow at Carlisle (6f, good) latest. Hard to be confident given slow-starting ways, though.
White Ladder (IRE)
Went close in a nursery final start for Archie Watson. Ran even better to finish third in handicaps at Salisbury/Yarmouth this season. Looks interesting for Newmarket yard that hasn't sent many runners here in recent seasons.
Maynora
Held his form well since opening his account at Pontefract (6f) in April. Handicapper may just have his measure. Cheekpieces back on.
Royal Duke
Went close to landing a C&D double last summer. Likely in better heart than this season's form figures would suggest, but the forecast rain probably isn't in his favour.
So Grateful
Lost his form following wins at Newcastle/Thirsk last year. No sign of a revival at long odds either start this season.
Saxon Grace (IRE)
Close fourth behind subsequent winner at Carlisle in May. Back to form when filling the same position at Catterick 2 weeks ago. This looks to be her trip, and she looks to have a solid chance at the weights.
Ellie's De Vega
Consistent and versatile maiden. Didn't settle fully when third in higher grade here (7f) last time. Return to sprinting should suit, and he's entitled to make a bold bid on first start against his elders.
Newyorkstateofmind
Extended long losing run when fourth of 13 in handicap at Newcastle (6f). Handicapper has given him another chance.
Baby Rover (IRE)
Hit-and-miss performer who finished runner-up in this race 12 months ago. Only beaten by a fair sort at Carlisle on her latest start and merits consideration off 1 lb lower mark.
Saxon Gem (IRE)
Well beaten on first try over a longer trip at Musselburgh (1m) last time. Didn't look a natural sprinter prior to that.
