Timeform View

George Boughey's PERFECT NATION was unable to justify short odds but still shaped well when runner-up at Windsor on his recent debut and this son of Sioux Nation can take a step forward and go one better unless Ralph Beckett's New Bay newcomer Drum Bay proves well above average. The Richard Hannon-trained pair Cavalier and Son Of A Fish also command respect in this fair novice.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Perfect Nation traded at a low of 3.60 and Betfair SP of 3.00 when losing last time, a race in which it raced prominently.

Timeform Comments

Carrow Road
16/1, last of 6 in maiden at Hamilton (5f, firm) on debut 40 days ago. Significantly up in trip with lots more needed.
Cavalier (IRE)
4/1, some promise when sixth of 9 in novice at Newbury (6.5f, good to soft) on debut 25 days ago. This son of Minzaal should improve.
Drum Bay
Foaled April 25. New Bay colt. Half-brother to 7f winner Chamas. Dam, winner up to 1¼m (2-y-o 7f winner), half-sister to very smart winner up to 1½m (stays 1¾m) Amiloc. Highly respected on debut.
Harbour Prince
Foaled February 2. 30,000 gns foal, £70,000 yearling, Palace Pier colt. Half-brother to several winners, including 7f-1m winner Ajrad and 2-y-o 7f winner Cryptoqueen. The market can guide.
Mino
Foaled April 30. 65,000 gns yearling, Palace Pier colt. Dam, 7f/1m winner, half-sister to smart 7f-1m winner Positive Impact. A considered newcomer.
Peak Tram (USA)
Foaled February 25. Liam's Map colt. Half-brother to minor US winner by Twirling Candy. Dam lightly-raced half-sister to US Grade 3 9f winner Middie. The betting can prove an accurate indicator for this debutant.
Perfect Nation (IRE)
Sent off 6/4 when a promising debut second of 13 in maiden at Windsor (6f, good to firm) on debut 14 days ago, keeping on late despite having pulled hard early. This Sioux Nation colt seems sure to build on it. Big shout.
Son Of A Fish
Foaled March 19. Territories colt. Dam, 9.4f winner, closely related to useful 8.3f-1¼m winner Southern Rock. Another newcomer to consider.
There Goes My Hero
Foaled March 22. Rumble Inthejungle colt. Dam unraced. Others appeal more on this occasion.
Goblet
Never a threat both runs at Newbury this summer, fourth of 5 in 7f novice on latter occasion 13 days ago. Sort to do better in due course though.
