Timeform View

A few of these bring potential but it's hard to ignore the claims of ROMANZA who posted an excellent seventh in the Chesham at Royal Ascot last time and can now gain a first success. Both Sea Idol and Cloud Summit made promising debuts at Southwell and Newbury respectively and can ensure Charlie Fellowes' Frankel colt doesn't have things all his own way, while Simon and Ed Crisford's newcomer Apulia Bay is another to consider.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Romanza traded at a low of 19.00 and Betfair SP of 22.65 when losing last time, a race in which it raced in mid-field.

Timeform Comments

Apulia Bay (IRE)
Foaled March 2. 400,000 gns foal, 600,000 gns yearling, Too Darn Hot colt. Closely related to useful 1½m winner Nightime Dancer and half-brother to Italian 6.7f winner Clarissa For Ever. Interesting debutant.
Cloud Summit (IRE)
7/1 and green when an encouraging fourth of 9 in novice at Newbury (6.5f, good to soft) on debut 25 days ago. This No Nay Never colt is a likely player with more to offer.
Il Capo (IRE)
Twice-raced maiden, still looking in need of the experience when seventh of 11 in novice at Windsor (6f) 7 days ago. Can do better.
Minzaal Time (IRE)
12/1, twelfth of 13 in maiden at Windsor (6f, good to firm) on debut 14 days ago. Needs to take a big step forward.
Romanza
Frankel colt who built on debut promise with an excellent 4¼ lengths seventh of 14 in Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot (7f, good to firm) 18 days ago. Likely to improve further and the one to beat.
Royal Titan (USA)
$22,000Y, £62,000. Half-brother to 2 winners, notably useful US winner up to 8.5f winner (2-y-o 6f winner) Founder. Dam, US 7f winner, is a half-sister to smart 7f/1m winner Brigand. The market can guide for this son of Bolt D'Oro.
Sea Idol
Sea The Moon gelding produced a promising first effort (amid greenness) to go close on debut at Southwell (28/1), doing well to come from last in a slowly-run race. Open to a fair bit of improvement.
Thunder Home (IRE)
16/1, seventh of 10 in novice at Ascot (6f, good to firm) on debut 58 days ago. This son of Night Of Thunder can build on it here.
Victory Gold (IRE)
Space Blues colt shaped well when a debut second at Ascot but has failed to kick on, hooded when sixteenth of 25 in listed Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot (6f) last time. Still not out of things back in these calmer waters though.
