Timeform View

SUPREME LORD has a speed-laden pedigree and is a tentative selection to make a winning debut. City Of Gold is a fellow expensive purchase and looks the biggest danger, with King’s Fury also making some appeal in a race in which those with prior form don’t set an exacting standard.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Captain James Cook could be advantaged by a prominent position which looks likely in this field: Of the better-fancied horses, City Of Gold is most likely to be ridden furthest from the pace.

Timeform Comments

Banks Of The Boyne (IRE)
Shaped with promise when mid-field in a maiden won by Switching Sides at the Fairyhouse on debut but went backwards from that at Roscommon last time and is probably one for nurseries later on.
Captain James Cook
Expensive Blackbeard colt. Failed to meet expectations when 16¾ lengths twelfth of 13 to Celeron in maiden at Curragh on debut. Clearly thought capable of better, though looks the stable second string here.
City Of Gold
€400,000Y: third foal: dam useful French 1m/9f winner. Yard operating at a strike rate of over 20% with 2-y-o debutants. Stable first string on jockey bookings.
King's Fury
Foaled April 1. 160,000 gns yearling, Kingman colt. Closely related to winner abroad by Invincible Spirit. Dam unraced out of 1000 Guineas winner Miss France. Second of 9 in barrier trial at Naas in May. Appealing newcomer.
La Tache (IRE)
Mehmas colt. Shaped better than the bare result when 8¼ lengths sixth of 13 to Celeron in maiden at the Curragh on debut, inexperience costing him on the day. Open to improvement with first-time blinkers applied.
Mutamarid Lsk (IRE)
Foaled March 19. Ten Sovereigns colt. Dam, winner up to 1¼m (2-y-o 1m winner), half-sister to useful 7f-9f winner Admiral de Vega. Seventh of 9 in barrier trial at Naas in May.
Nail House (IRE)
80,000Y: second foal: half-brother to 2-y-o 5f winner Dinamo (by Dandy Man): dam, 1m winner, half-sister to useful British/US 6f winner (including minor US stake, and stayed 1m) Bredenbury.
Supreme Lord (IRE)
400,000Y: fifth foal: half-brother to 2-y-o 6f winner Letherfly (by Churchill): dam, 5f winner who stayed 7f, half-sister to useful 2-y-o 5f winner Orlaith out of unraced half-sister to high-class winner up to 1m Toormore. Makes plenty of appeal on pedigree.
