DEVIOUS DEVAN may have simply failed to handle soft ground at Ffos Las last time. His Wolverhampton win prior to that looks solid form and he can come good now back on the all-weather. Finn Ironside is back on a good mark and is next on the list ahead of Union Island.

Timeform Comments

Spirit Lead Me (IRE)
Won twice on the all-weather last September, including over 7f here off a similar mark. Well held on all 7 starts this year and could only consider if the betting hints that a revival is anticipated.
Union Island (IRE)
Narrow winner at Leicester (1m) in May. Creditable in-frame efforts last twice, including in refitted cheekpieces latest. Ought to be on the premises again.
Look Back Smiling (IRE)
Has come down a long way in the weights and better signs at the second time of asking for new trainer Neil Mulholland when fourth of 8 at Goodwood (9f) last time, making quite a promising move before hanging into the camber. One to note in the betting.
Opening Bat
Won over C&D last spring. Largely ran with credit later in 2025 but his 2 turf runs this year have been very disappointing. Needs a return to polytrack to help spark a revival.
Finn Ironside
Twice a winner last year under this claimer. Looked back in form when reaching the frame over 7f at Newcastle and Doncaster this spring and has had excuses twice since. More than capable off this sort of mark.
Between Me And U
Made the frame twice in light 2025 campaign and may have needed his comeback runs in recent months. His 2 wins were achieved off higher marks than today. Not dismissed.
Devious Devan (IRE)
Finally got off the mark when defeating a next-time-out winner at Wolverhampton (8.6f) in May, overcoming a pace bias in the process. 3 lb rise looked fair and possibly unsuited by soft ground at Ffos Las since. Given another chance now back on all-weather.
Sub Thirteen
Respectable third of 10 in handicap at Chepstow (1m, good,) 23 days ago, seeing out the longer trip well. Needs to build on that now.
Beau Jardine (IRE)
Snapped a losing run on testing ground at Lingfield last month but hardly has the profile of one likely to follow up.
Hawaiian King (IRE)
Claims on his all-weather form during the winter and not disgraced on turf at Lingfield last time.
Cherry Hill
Sole win came here but it was back in 2023 and she hasn't offered any obvious promise in 3 outings this year.
