Timeform View

JAMESTOWN shaped well in a competitive Royal Ascot handicap last month and is taken to resume progress and winning ways back in calmer waters. Thread of Gold is ready for this step up in trip on handicap debut and is feared most, while Diego El Queso won over 1¼m at this course in April and is respected.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Of those forecasted with a better chance, Thread Of Gold could be most vulnerable in a race in which competition for the lead looks to be fierce: There is a chance of a pace burnout early, and Diego El Queso is one who may benefit from being produced later.

Timeform Comments

Diego El Queso (IRE)
Shaped well on reappearance when going close at the Curragh (1m) in April and confirmed that promise when landing 12-runner contest at this course (1¼m) 12 days later, despite having conceded first run.
Lord Massusus (IRE)
Smart performer at his best but winless in 13 starts and operating below that level this season, including reverting to this company last time. Further drop of a pound and booking of a good-value apprentice both in his favour, mind.
Cloud Seeker
Had 3 runs in Bahrain during the winter, finishing runner-up in January, then returned with a solid 5th of 20 in a handicap at the Curragh in May. Didn't back that up last time, though, looks to be struggling for consistency.
Retracement (IRE)
Won 1¼m handicap at the Curragh on soft in 2025. Not disgraced in 2 outings this year but likely to need further respite from the handicapper. Wears first-time cheekpieces.
Slieve Binnian (IRE)
Won twice in 2025. Has yet to fire this season, but has now dropped below last winning mark and one to note if attracting market interest.
Playin Cool (IRE)
Has shaped well when placed last 2 starts, coming from further back than the pair that beat him when 4¼ lengths third of 13 to Pierre Royal at Curragh on latest.
Jamestown (IRE)
Stood out on form but was impressive in landing the odds in 11-runner maiden at Dundalk (7f) in May and backed that up with a good effort when 1½ lengths third of 30 to Moonfall in the Britannia Stakes at Royal Ascot three weeks ago. Remains unexposed.
Harana (IRE)
Well-bred daughter of Ghaiyyath who showed improved form when winning maiden at Ballinrobe in June by 3½ lengths from Mano Chicago. Needs to improve if she's to make a mark back in handicap company.
Nakasero (IRE)
Won C&D handicap last summer. Hit and miss off higher marks since, though, posting best effort this season when runner-up at Dundalk in January. Never threatened back at this course last time but drop back in trip should suit.
Thread Of Gold (IRE)
Got back on track despite not looking like the finished article when length third of 5 to Tim Toe in handicap at Listowel on return. Open to further improvement.
Harmani (IRE)
Improved further when winning a 10.5f handicap at Down Royal in May from 15 lb lower mark, scoring by 6 lengths from Oust. Didn't quite see out the 13f trip at Down Royal last time and no surprise were he to get back on track now back down in distance.
Anvika (IRE)
On long losing run but has shaped better when placed at this course and Limerick on last 2 starts, 3¼ lengths third of 6 to Spanish Temptress on latest. Below last winning mark if able to build on those performances.
