Timeform View

A potential match between DELTA and Sirius with preference for the former having possibly done too much too soon in first-time cheekpieces at the Curragh recently. Back down in trip and with headgear quickly discarded, he can get the better of Willie Mullins' mare, who tends to improve for a run and is possibly being brought along with a return to Galway in mind.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Sirius traded at a high of 7.20 and Betfair SP of 6.40 when winning last time, a race in which it raced in mid-field and travelled strongly early on.

Timeform Comments

Delta
Shaped well when 5½ lengths fourth of 24 to Westminster Moon at the Curragh on return from 8 months off in May but didn't see out the 2f longer trip back there recently, possibly doing a bit too much too soon in first-time cheekpieces. Fancied to go close.
The Mediator (IRE)
Got off the mark at Clonmel (16.5f) last September. Resumed from 7 months off with a solid third of 6 in conditions event at Listowel (13f) in May but went backwards from that at Bellewstown last week. Back up in trip and first-time cheekpieces the headgear of choice.
Sirius (FR)
Confirmed promise of her Irish Cesarewitch effort when winning 12-runner minor event at the Curragh (1½m, heavy) back in October. Tends to improve for a run and possibly being brought along with a return to Galway in mind.
Catalani (IRE)
Promise sole start in bumpers and made it third time lucky over fences in 4-runner hunter chase at Down Royal (23f, good) in May, in control when left clear last. Multiple point winner who may well feature (fourth in charity race at the Curragh most recently).
Friary Road (IRE)
Bumper/hurdles winner who was ridden with an eye on the future returning in a competitive race when sixth of 11 in novice hurdle at Punchestown (2m, good to soft) in April. Ran well in defeat on the level last year but others look stronger returning from 10 weeks off.
Murat (IRE)
Free-going winner in bumpers and over hurdles but did too much too soon switched to the Flat after 10 weeks off when seventh of 9 in maiden at Down Royal (13f, soft) last month. Hard to see him featuring.
