ACCORDING TO MARK left the impression he wasn't at his best when going down to an improving, well-bred filly at Pontefract last month, but it was still a fairly useful effort nonetheless and he's worth another chance to open his account up in trip on first start since being gelded. Hatteen is an obvious threat on form and has hopes of staying the longer trip given he's by Lope de Vega and out of a Galileo mare. Count Bezukhov's Curragh win is working out well and he rates a useful prospect.

Timeform Comments

Count Bezukhov (IRE)
Confirmed debut promise in a first-time tongue strap when winning 15-runner maiden at the Curragh (1¼m, good to firm, 10/11) 47 days ago, edging ahead late on. That form is working out and he's much respected under a penalty with further progress on the cards.
Shoof Baeed
Sea The Stars colt who knew his job when making a winning start in 6-runner novice at Redcar (1¼m, good) on debut 20 days ago, quickening over 3f out and running on. Likely to improve.
According To Mark (IRE)
Very green on debut at Newcastle in November and left that effort behind when losing out only by a short-head at Redcar (1¼m) in April, still looking to be learning. Hardly a bad effort when turned over at odds on at Pontefract since and remains capable of better. Has been gelded.
Brave Hunter
Has upped his game since switching to handicap company, resuming his progress when edged out by a fellow improver in 1½m event at Newmarket last month. A bit more exposed than some but capable of making presence felt in first-time cheekpieces.
Hatteen (IRE)
Showed fair form at 2 yrs and stepped up on his reappearance when second of 9 in maiden at Newbury (1¼m, good, 7/2) in May. Obvious player if seeing out the longer trip.
Poker (IRE)
4,300,000 gns Wootton Bassett colt who advanced his form with cheekpieces added when second in a novice at Haydock (1½m, good to firm) on reappearance. Tailed off in Derby subsequently.
Saifo (IRE)
52,000 gns yearling, Wootton Bassett colt. Dam, third at 1¼m (stayed 1½m), sister to smart 1m winner Sir John Lavery out of smart winner up to 9.5f (2-y-o 7f winner) Race For The Stars. Appeals on paper and needs a market check.
Sea And Sun
Improved on debut form when second of 5 in maiden at Pontefract (1½m, good to firm, 6/4) 10 days ago, needing stiffer test. Should progress further but this is a warmer race.
