An interesting race with several holding leading claims and the lightly-raced HIGHLAND SHAH can come out on top now he's gained the winning thread. Lord Capulet heads the list of dangers, from Wrydcroft and King's School.

Timeform Comments

King's School
A regular at Newcastle and readily won another 7f handicap there in May. Ran well back on turf when second at Chester (7f, soft, 4/1) the following month, finishing a place ahead of Lord Capulet. That proved he's worth persevering with on grass and can go well again.
Alpha Capture (IRE)
Built on several encouraging runs since joining this yard to score in an 11-runner handicap over C&D (good to firm) 25 days ago. Has to prove as effective off this higher mark but has claims all the same.
Monsieur Bondy
Won a Redcar maiden and Newcastle novice from 4 starts last season but has yet to kick on since handicapping and is hard to recommend at present.
Lord Capulet (IRE)
Has been thriving this year, gaining a fifth success of the campaign in a 7f Redcar handicap in May. Placed on last 2 starts, latest when third at Chester last month (one place behind King's School). Looks sure to go well again in current form.
Stanage
Won over C&D on 2025 reappearance but has struggled for consistency since, edging down the weights as a result. Has the hood discarded but needs to show some spark before he's of immediate interest from a betting perspective.
Lope El Fuego (IRE)
Landed 6f Newbury novice last July and faced stiff task in listed race there on final juvenile outing. Made no impression on handicap debut at Leicester on return and appeals as being too high in the weights at present.
Bella Bisbee
Returned to her best with a straightforward success over C&D in June under a 7-lb claimer. Failed to settle when fifth of 7 in handicap (6/1) again over C&D (firm) 13 days ago. May need a few to falter to feature in this higher grade.
Wrydcroft
Won first 2 starts this year, namely at Southwell (7f) and over C&D in April. Maintained his run of form having been placed both starts since, latest when 1¼ lengths third of 11 to Alpha Capture over C&D (good to firm) 25 days ago. Has each-way claims once more.
Return Of The Gods (IRE)
Won 6f maiden at Wolverhampton in October. 13/2, got back on track when second of 5 on handicap/turf debut at Nottingham (6f, good to firm) 14 days ago. The booking of Loughnane is a plus for this lightly-raced sort but it remains to be seen if this longer trip will be his bag.
Highland Shah (FR)
Free-going sort who opened his account at the fourth attempt in 10-runner handicap at Musselburgh (7f, good to firm) last month, overcoming a troubled passage to do so. Should make a bold bid to follow up after a 3 lb rise in the weights.
