Timeform View

Successful on 2 of his 4 starts as a juvenile (also second in Group 2) MORRIS DANCER enhanced his reputation following a 10-month absence when finishing a very good third in the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot 3 weeks ago. Entitled to build on that effort, he makes most appeal over Wild Desert who makes his first start since last summer. German 2000 Guineas runner up Shayem is another holding claims.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Morris Dancer traded at a low of 18.00 and Betfair SP of 31.14 when losing last time, a race in which it raced towards the rear.

Timeform Comments

Oxagon (FR)
Frankel colt who resumed progress in a race run to suit when successful in the Craven on return. However, below best next 2 starts in Group 1 company and whilst he may have found it coming too soon in Hampton Court at Royal Ascot, he does have a bit to prove. Blinkers replace cheekpieces.
Colori Forever
Posted a borderline smart effort when taking his record to 3-6 in 10-runner handicap at Ascot (7f) in May. Raced off the pace in unfavoured group when well held in Jersey Stakes at the Royal Meeting and previous exploits suggest we've yet to see all he has to offer. Up in trip.
Conclave (IRE)
Scopey son of Sioux Nation who made it 2 wins from 3 starts in novice company at Hamilton (1m) in May. Again ran well with the aid of a good draw when sixth in last month's Britannia at Royal Ascot (1m) and whilst he has a bit to find with a couple, he may yet do better following just 4 starts.
Lyneham (FR)
French raider who was 2-2 (both at 1m) at 2 yrs and stepped up on his reappearance run when fifth of 8 in listed company at Longchamp (7f, soft) 56 days ago, making late headway. Return to 1m rates a plus but a lot of improvement required.
Morris Dancer (IRE)
Palace Pier colt who was most progressive at 2 yrs, making it 2 wins from 4 starts in 3-runner 1m Salisbury listed contest in August. Plenty of encouragement to glean from his reappearance third after 10 months off in the Jersey Stakes 3 weeks ago and good chance he can build on that down in grade.
Shayem (IRE)
Three of his 4 wins as a juvenile culminated in listed success at Pontefract (1m) in October and produced best effort of present campaign when second in German 2000 Guineas in May. A repeat gives him claims returned to listed level.
Wild Desert (IRE)
Well-related sort who was a ready winner on debut at Haydock (7f) last spring and acquitted himself well up in class thereafter, third in Group 2 Superlative here (7f) prior to signing off with an unlucky second in Woodbine Grade 1 in September. Absent since but he's interesting back down in class.
