CIARRAI ABU built on his reappearance success sent handicapping when fourth at Goodwood last month, catching the eye with his finishing effort, and he is taken to resume winning ways. Crown Office also shaped promisingly on his latest outing and is respected as he goes up in trip, with Abundant completing the shortlist.

Timeform Comments

Crest Of Fire (IRE)
Wide-margin winner of a Southwell maiden on reappearance and improved again when third in a valuable handicap at Carlisle in May. Poorly drawn when down the field in the Britannia here 22 days ago, so no surprise to see him bounce back.
Loz Vegas (IRE)
Awarded the contest in a Sandown maiden on his second start last year, a race with a good history. Having second run back this season, finished well when length fifth of 13 in handicap at Newmarket 3 weeks ago and this stiffer track should suit.
Shaman Champion (IRE)
Fairly useful at 2 yrs for Richard Hughes, making a winning start at Leicester before going on to finish runner-up twice in nurseries. However, went backwards from his seasonal/stable debut when tenth of 17 in handicap at Goodwood (7f) in May.
Starlight Time
Winner of 2 of his 3 starts last year, landing the odds in a Chelmsford novice (1m) in November. Ran no sort of race on testing conditions in handicap at Epsom (1¼m) on return, so this should reveal more back on firmer ground. Hood applied.
Assaranca (IRE)
Much improved when doubling her tally in handicap at Lingfield (7f, good to firm) in May. Has found it tough back up to listed level both starts since, though, seventh of 10 at Carlisle 16 days ago. Still has something to find in this contest.
Crown Office
Landed the odds in a 6f Leicester maiden on final outing last year. Disappointed on seasonal/handicap debut, but after a further 2 months off (gelded) he got back on track when never-nearer fourth in 10-runner contest at Sandown in June. Merits consideration.
Ya Karim (IRE)
Yarmouth novice winner last year and, having been gelded, stepped forward from this season's return when third of 13 on handicap debut at Kempton (7f) in May, despite going a bit too quick early. Should be suited by this far at the second attempt.
Abundant (IRE)
Off the mark at Southwell at the third attempt last year and has run well in handicaps both starts this season, third of 10 at Goodwood 3 weeks ago (finishing neck ahead of Ciarrai Abu). Could be thereabouts once more.
Ciarrai Abu (IRE)
Goodwood maiden winner on return and shaped well making handicap debut when fourth of 10 at the same course 3 weeks ago, finishing strongly. Form from last time has been boosted since and he's a major player with more still to offer.
Mr Seagull (IRE)
Pontefract debut winner last summer who found things tougher in stronger company thereafter. Resumed in handicaps with pair of fourth-place finishes at Haydock/York, before failing to land a blow on softer ground at Chester (10.3f) last time. Others preferred.
Arbaawy
Consistent type who was placed in 1m handicaps here and at Newbury in May. Ran respectably when 2 lengths fourth of 5 at Sandown last month, though more needed if he's to gain a breakthrough victory.
