Timeform View

A good race despite the small field and GATEHOUSE is fractionally preferred, having resumed his progress to pull clear with the winner at Nottingham last month. Hat-trick seeking Morbeh is also very much on the upgrade and can offer chief resistance.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Morbeh traded at a high of 4.90 and Betfair SP of 3.10 when winning last time, a race in which it raced in mid-field and travelled strongly early on.

Timeform Comments

Seagolazo (IRE)
Winless across 14 starts in handicaps but has seemingly been building up to something of late, finishing with a bit of a flourish when runner-up for the second successive outing in an 8-runner handicap at Windsor (1¼m, firm, 13/2) 11 days ago. NON RUNNER.
Samuel Colt (IRE)
Useful for Aidan O'Brien but yet to get close to that level for current connections, his best effort for a while coming when fourth of 9 over this trip at Goodwood in May. Not in same form at Sandown since, though, and he's likely opposable again.
Golden Knight (IRE)
Built on debut promise when making all in 7-runner novice at Newmarket (1m, good to firm) in October. Not up to the listed Heron Stakes on Sandown return and was always too far back to get meaningfully involved when twelfth of 19 in the KIng George V (1½m) here 3 weeks ago. Mark still looks fair.
Gatehouse (IRE)
Won maiden and handicap debut on all-weather before confirming his effectiveness on turf when edged out in a 6-runner handicap at Nottingham (1¼m, good to soft) 37 days ago, pulling clear of the rest. Should go close again from 4 lb higher.
Morbeh
Well-bred sort who beat 2 next-time out winners when scoring at Windsor in May and improved further to follow up in a 9-runner event at Chester (10.3f, soft) 28 days ago, a good gallop suiting him having dropped back in trip. Of strong interest again from 9 lb higher.
