KINGS MERCHANT did enough on his latest run to suggest that his time is near and he's taken to strike here. El Pinto may be the main danger from the returning Yoko.

Timeform Comments

King Of War
Has only won at Chepstow and Brighton, with his last 3 successes coming at the latter course, the latest just last month. Raced into a headwind when fifth under a penalty there 10 days ago. Is being kept busy of late.
Triggerman (IRE)
Ran with credit on several occasions last year. 4/1, sixth of 8 in handicap at Kempton (7f) when last seen in January. First run for yard after leaving Julie Camacho and has the cheekpieces back on. Market best guide after 6-month absence.
Currahee (IRE)
Twice a winner for this yard last season and proved easy to back when below form ninth on return at Newmarket 3 weeks ago. Any positive market moves likely best guide.
Pearly Squirrel (IRE)
Won at Wolverhampton (7f) in March and has generally held her form since. Back over that C&D when creditable third 12 days ago. Each-way claims.
Kings Merchant
Losing run is mounting up but went as close as he ever has to ending that when head second of 9 in handicap (8/1) at Doncaster (6f, good to firm) 7 days ago, outbattled. Consistency isn't his strongest suit but looks the one to beat if backing that up.
Giant
Won on yard debut last August but has gone fifteen runs since without adding to it. Made frame on 3 occasions this season, fourth of 9 in handicap at Yarmouth (7f, firm, 10/1) 8 days ago. May prove vulnerable for win purposes.
Top Lad
Fair form at best as a juvenile. 12/1, well-held last of 10 on handicap debut at Beverley (7.4f, good) on reappearance in April. Has to overcome a further absence. Engaged 4.55 Carlisle Thursday.
El Pinto
Fair sort at 2 years but he went the wrong way last season before offering a glimmer of promise on his last 2 starts. Entitled to be in the mix once more.
Yoko
Lightly-raced maiden. Showed more when second of 4 in nursery (5/1) at Ffos Las (6f, good to soft) when last seen 11 months ago. First run for yard after leaving David Evans and worth monitoring in the market with Rossa Ryan in the saddle.
Sparkling Pink
Standout effort for current yard when third at Doncaster (7f) in April. Possibly failed to stay when fourth of 12 in handicap at Redcar (1m, good, 6/1) 20 days ago. Others preferred.
