KIWI DE COTTE can defy a penalty and follow up his recent successful yard/hurdling debut at Market Rasen. Yellow Card can pose the biggest threat ahead of Regarde.

Timeform Comments

Kiwi De Cotte (FR)
Won both completed starts in points and shaped well prior to a serious late error in a Wexford hunter on Rules debut in May. Picked up by Skelton after and belied market weakness to win a 7-runner maiden hurdle at Market Rasen (23f, good to firm) on hurdles bow 21 days ago. Player.
Yellow Card
Fairly useful on the Flat for Ollie Sangster. Showed first form in this sphere when second of 5 in novice at Ffos Las (2½m, good) in May and made the most of a good opportunity to land the odds in a 9-runner novice hurdle at Newton Abbot (2¾m) 37 days ago. Respected in this better race.
Annual Invitation (IRE)
Placed in 2 Irish points and has very much shaped as if handicaps have been the plan since sent hurdling, not knocked about when fifth at Uttoxeter when last seen in May. Handicaps will be more his bag after this.
Geordie Mackem
Fair form when placed in bumpers at Wetherby and Newcastle last winter for Brian Ellison. Since reached a similar level on the Flat but probably best watched making hurdles debut for new yard.
Regarde (IRE)
Can often look hard work but he's still a fairly useful sort over fences. Hurdling for the first time in over 3 years and whilst his chase form would give him leading claims, this shorter trip is far from certain to suit.
Saint Arion (IRE)
No show in point/bumper but showed some ability when fourth of 9 in 2m maiden here (good) on hurdles bow, albeit well positioned. Failed to impress with his jumping last time at Market Rasen 3 weeks ago, though.
Solo Eclipse
Runner-up on the first of 2 outings in bumpers but was readily put in his place once the race began in earnest switched to hurdling at Uttoxeter and was seemingly ridden with an eye to the future dropped to 2m here last month. Back up in trip on qualifying run.
Tufton (IRE)
Midfield in a bumper but no show in 2 hurdles starts so far. Returns from 8 months off here.
Virtuose D'ainay (FR)
Favourite when third in an Irish point but no sign of ability in 3 outings over hurdles so far.
