Timeform View

FRANCISCAN ROCK is in a different league to his opposition over hurdles and despite still having not matched that form as a chaser, should be able to capitalise on a good opportunity here. Orkneys Jack and Charlie Luciano can complete the placings.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Franciscan Rock traded at a low of 22.00 and Betfair SP of 42.00 when losing last time, a race in which it led.

Timeform Comments

Centreofattention (IRE)
Bumper winner for Nicky Henderson. No significant impact in maiden hurdles for this yard and might've needed the outing after 5 months off on his handicap debut last time. Probably only of note if betting speaks favourably on chasing debut.
Charlie Luciano (IRE)
Winless since 2023 and had seemingly completely lost his form when last seen in the autumn. Has gone well at Kilbeggan before though (third in this race in 2024) and he should strip fitter for his recent return in a 2½m handicap here. Goes back up in trip.
Franciscan Rock (IRE)
Enhanced a solid record at the Cheltenham Festival when runner-up in the BetMGM Cup there in March but was flying too high in the Champion Stayers' Hurdle at Punchestown (23f, good to soft) last time. Has had several previous tries over fences but still sets the standard here.
Juke Hill (IRE)
Point runner-up who shaped as if he'd be a better chaser than hurdler when fourth of 14 in novice chase at Wexford (19f, good to soft) on debut over fences 10 days ago. Open to improvement back up in trip but will probably be seen in a better light when handicapping.
Kevin's Pride (IRE)
Impressive bumper winner, though proved frustating in maiden hurdles prior to getting off the mark at the fifth attempt at Cork in October. Let down by jumping on chase debut at Wexford in March and has since underperformed back over hurdles. Tongue strap now goes on.
Orkneys Jack (IRE)
No impact in a trio of hurdle starts last year but won a point in May and showed much more than previously under Rules when a plugging-on third of 12 in novice chase (80/1) at this course (2½m, good) 25 days ago.
Scalpnagoon (IRE)
Fairly useful over hurdles and has translated that ability to chasing, placed for the fourth time over fences when third at Roscommon (2m) early last month. Finished tamely when a below-par fourth of 6 in novice chase at Wexford (2m) 10 days ago, so longer trip here not certain to suit.
Tonaghneave Well (IRE)
Borderline useful over hurdles but yet to get near that form as a chaser and was only ninth of 15 in handicap at Roscommon (25f, soft, 25/1) 32 days ago.
