Timeform View

DOWN AROUND has an 8-month absence to overcome but he's made a significant yard switch and, with his prominent style likely to be well suited by the demands of this track, he could be worth chancing operating from his last winning mark. Recent C&D winner Island McCoo and Limerick scorer Knocknagoran Lady are others to consider.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Strong Contender traded at 25% or less of Betfair SP twice and 50% or less of Betfair SP on 3 of its last 5 starts: Technology has traded at 50% or less of Betfair SP 4 times on its last 5 starts.

Timeform Comments

Down Around (IRE)
Just the one career victory to his name but in good form when last seen in action, posting a respectable sixth at Thurles (2½m) 8 months ago. Made a significant yard switch ahead of return and prominent style should suit demands of this track. Interesting.
Tannery Park
Golden Horn gelding who proved relatively easy to back but he posted an improved performance when shedding maiden tag at Ballinrobe (2¾m, good) in May 2025. Fact he's been absent again has to be a slight concern, though.
Another Glendaars (IRE)
Absent 18 months ahead of seasonal/stable debut when finishing well held in 2½m handicap at Limerick in May. Stepped forward from that outing when fourth of 13 at Downpatrick (2¾m) 27 days ago. The market could be informative (yard going well).
Ballyglass Beauty (IRE)
C&D winner who dispelled several lesser displays in first-time cheekpieces when second at Clonmel (23f) in April. However, headgear failed to have desired effect a second time when well beaten at Sligo a month later. Given a break ahead of this.
Sharetheknowledge (IRE)
Maiden hurdler who posted a pair of respectable fourth-place finishes over fences in the autumn. Reverts to smaller obstacles after nearly 9 months off with this longer trip an unknown.
The Little Yank (IRE)
Veteran C&D winner who ended a losing run at Clonmel in January. Lost way thereafter (pulled up next 4 starts) but he resumes from a 3-month break with his yard now in much better nick. Steps back up in trip.
Island Mccoo (IRE)
Resumed from a break in good heart and back over an extended 3m, doubled career tally in a C&D handicap 25 days ago, going on home turn. Should be competitive again having been raised 5 lb.
Knocknagoran Lady (IRE)
Fallen to a career-low mark and got back on the up in no uncertain terms when scoring at Limerick (23f) 8 days ago, travelling best some way out and quickly settling matters. 9 lb rise shouldn't prevent her going well again if in similar form.
Georgia Celena (IRE)
Capitalised on a reduced mark at Downpatrick (2¾m) 12 months ago and plenty of good efforts in defeat have followed, posting an encouraging effort after 8 months off when third over same C&D 4 weeks ago. Not discounted with that run under her belt.
Love Like This (IRE)
Posted a good effort with her challenge delayed when third at Sligo on penultimate start and finally shed maiden tag over C&D 25 days ago, always holding on. Overall record suggests she may be vulnerable from 5 lb higher, though.
Thewaybackhome (IRE)
Little to shout about in his qualifying hurdle runs but better signs in handicaps on last 2 starts, staying the longer trip when fourth at Clonmel (2¾m, good) 35 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time and could do better still if brushing up his jumping.
Hay Baby (IRE)
Point winner who attracted support on occasions last season but did not go on as expected in handicaps. Shaped as if needing the run on return to hurdling at Cork in May and has since left Peter Fahey. Interesting to see if her backers return.
Coppola (IRE)
Much improved when runner-up in handicap hurdles on first 3 starts for current yard, including over 3m. Pulled up over C&D final start and it was an inauspicious start over fences on return at Downpatrick) in June. Needs to bounce back returned to timber in refitted cheekpieces.
Technology (IRE)
Maiden but made the frame twice over 3m at Wexford last summer. Ended 2025 out of sorts and was let down by his jumping when unseating at the fifth on return from 9 months off at Limerick (23f) 8 days ago.
Go Avel (IRE)
Still a maiden and she failed to build on minor promise of previous start when well held at Downpatrick (2¾m, good to firm) 4 weeks ago (bled). Goes minus the tongue strap on this occasion.
Gypsy Poet (IRE)
Lightly-raced maiden who showed more than previously faced with a marked step up in trip when sixth in 20-runner handicap hurdle at Down Royal (3m) in October. Off since and market may well prove best guide as to expectations.
Whatyouwant (IRE)
Bounced back to form in first-time cheekpieces when springing an 80/1 surprise in a C&D handicap in September. Pulled up at Listowel later that month but shaped as if he would sharpen up for first start in 9 months at Limerick 8 days ago. RESERVE.
Toor Moon (IRE)
Remains a maiden after 39 runs and was already tailed off when unseating rider just before 2 out over fences at Downpatrick (3m) 4 weeks ago. Passed over back over hurdles. RESERVE.
Strong Contender (IRE)
Lightly-raced mare who showed first form switched to a handicap but posed zero win threat when seventh behind Island McCoo at this course (3m) 25 days ago. Tongue strap on 1st time. RESERVE.
