Timeform View

ABRAHAM LINCOLN passed his first test with flying colours when comfortably winning a Curragh maiden 15 days ago and he looks an exciting prospect for his leading yard, who last won this race with the top-class City of Troy in 2023. Both renewals since have gone the way of Charlie Appleby so Al Hudaiba isn't taken lightly, with Pikachu also in the mix after his Royal Ascot effort.

Timeform Comments

Abraham Lincoln
€2,300,000 yearling who justified favouritism on debut when winning 12-runner maiden at the Curragh (6f) 15 days ago, scoring comfortably despite running green. This extra furlong promises to suit and he can go on to better things for his leading yard.
Alfred Wallace
Superbly bred and stepped forward from his first outing when winning a 7f Thirsk novice by ½ length from Pikachu. Found things tougher when well held in 25-runner Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot (6f), but he could yet get back on track returned to this trip.
Al Hudaiba
Created a big impression when making a successful debut in 6f novice at this venue in May. Looked set to follow up at Yarmouth (7f) before jinking and unseating rider but made amends when landing the odds over C&D 3 weeks ago. Respected for yard with fine record in this race.
Green Sovereign
Left debut form well behind when scoring easily in a Pontefract maiden, despite hanging across the track. Met trouble but still ran to a similar level when 4 lengths eighth of 25 in Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot, so he remains with potential up in trip.
Notable Dream (IRE)
Promise over 6f on debut and was much improved when winning 6-runner maiden at Lingfield (7f, good to firm) later in May, making all for a 6-length victory. Could make a bold bid with further improvement to come.
Pikachu
Promising debut when ½-length second to Alfred Wallace in novice at Thirsk in May, the winner having the benefit of experience. Built on that effort when 1½ lengths fifth of 14 to Nola Soul in Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot and he can make his presence felt.
Silver Dominion (IRE)
Knew his job well and made a winning start in 9-runner novice at Newbury (6.5f) a month ago, just prevailing in a 3-way photo. Open to progress with this slightly longer trip to suit, but faces a much tougher ask in this contest.
