Timeform View

NIGHTIME DANCER shaped well on reappearance in a strong race and that promise still stands despite a flop at Royal Ascot so he's taken to prove too good if first-time blinkers brings about progress from him. Tycoon is another that could bounce back from a tame effort the time before, for all he does need to prove his stamina, while Ernst Blofeld could be in the mix for a place.

Timeform Comments

Nightime Dancer (IRE)
Highly tried last year and ran well when fourth of 8 making handicap debut at Newmarket in May. That form is working out well and, though he flopped faced with a much bigger field at Royal Ascot, he remains one to be very interested in, especially if first-time blinkers have a positive effect.
Nesthorn
Won in Bahrain in December and far from disgraced when seventh of 17 in a handicap at Royal meeting here 22 days ago, not settling and denied a clear run from 3f out though plugging to suggest this trip was within range. Place claims.
Green Cape (FR)
Handicap winner in France last year but refused to settle when tailed off last of 16 over 1¾m on British debut here last month. Now back in trip but has something to prove.
Ernst Blofeld (IRE)
Won at Kempton over this trip on all-weather in May and still looked in form when seventh of 16 in a handicap here over 1¾m 25 days ago, beaten by stronger stayers upped in trip. Drop back in trip will suit, but has shown quirks on occasions.
Tycoon
Best effort when third of 12 in a handicap over 9f at Newmarket in May, shaping well with a strong finish. Perhaps unsuited by track when 13th of 16 at Epsom last time and could go well if lasting out this longer trip.
Ghaiyya
Improved performer this year with good efforts including a handicap win at Doncaster in April before good second at Hamilton in May. Found listed level beyond her at Pontefract last time but this looks more realistic.
Tryfan
More of a solid proposition on all-weather but shaped bit better than the result when seventh of 9 at Salisbury when last seen in May. First-time cheekpieces now reached for and drops back in trip, but this is a lot better race than he need contest from current mark.
Blue Hercules (IRE)
Shaped well when second of 8 in novice over 1¼m at Chepstow in May but ran no sort of race making handicap debut in hot company here at the Royal Meeting last month, getting very much on his toes beforehand. Still unexposed but again looks to face a stiff task.
