Timeform View

WITNESS STAND was right back to his best when pushing subsequent Queen Anne winner Ten Bob Tony close at Epsom and will take some stopping if showing up here in the same mood. Myal is second choice ahead of the returning Tiber Flow.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Witness Stand traded at 10% or less of Betfair SP and 25% or less of Betfair SP on 2 of its last 5 starts.

Timeform Comments

Holguin
Landed a second win in this race last year. Below par back from 10 months off at Haydock in May but dangerous to rule out a revival back here.
Myal
Smart C&D winner. Won 7f Thirsk conditions race in April and creditable 5½ lengths second of 11 to Lake Forest in a listed race at Haydock (7f, good) since. Likely to be on the premises.
Palmar Bay (FR)
C&D handicap winner last summer. Fourth in listed races on first 2 outings this year but well held in C&D handicap last time. Others are more persuasive.
Roman Dragon
Chester specialist who recorded his eighth course success when landing a 5f handicap in May. Below par 3 times since. The return to Chester should help but he's got the widest stall.
Tiber Flow (IRE)
Dual Group 3 winner in 2024. Respectable second in 7f Haydock listed race on 2025 reappearance but not seen since. Capable of going well if fully primed after his absence.
Witness Stand
Smart sort at best who won the Group 2 Lennox at last year's Glorious Goodwood. Lost way afterwards but back on form after a breathing operation when narrowly denied by Ten Bob Tony in Epsom Group 3 (7f, good to soft) 35 days ago. This former C&D scorer will be hard to beat if in similar form.
Dash Of Azure
Useful sort who was runner-up at listed level for a second time when going down by ½ length over C&D a fortnight ago. That was a fillies' only race and this looks a bit stronger.
Five Ways
Group 3 winner last year (also fourth in the Middle Park on final outing) but has found life a lot harder this season.
Northern Champion (IRE)
Won a valuable newcomers event at Deauville last summer. Useful efforts to win back-to-back conditions races at Meydan at the start of the year but found out at Group 1 level twice since, latterly the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot. Bounce back needed.
