Timeform View

L'EAGLE AID was successful in this race last year and, having not been seen to best effect over C&D on his latest outing, he is taken to land the prize again. He can reverse the placings with Spartan Times from when the pair met here 2 weeks ago, with Fast Fred completing the shortlist.

Timeform Comments

Fast Fred
Proved better than ever when scoring at Musselburgh (12.5f) in April and has continued in good heart since, left with a lot to do when thirteenth of 20 in the Northumberland Vase (16.3f) at Newcastle 2 weeks ago. Could be in the mix back down in trip.
Nibras Gold (IRE)
Won twice on the Flat for current yard last season and ran well when third over this C&D in September. Good efforts in 2 handicaps over fences this year, third of 7 at Stratford 25 days ago, and he can give his running again back on the level.
L'eagle Aid (IRE)
Back-to-back winner last summer, including this same race off his current mark. Has worked his way back to form this season, slowly away and faring best of those held up when third of 8 over this C&D 2 weeks ago. Major player.
Dream Harder (IRE)
Ended long losing run over this C&D in May last year and was in better heart than the form figures suggest to end the campaign for Ian Williams. After 9 months off, made little impact on stable debut at Ripon in June, but this run should reveal more.
Just An Hour (IRE)
Likeable type who wasted no time leaving behind a lesser effort (raced keenly) when third of 6 in handicap at Salisbury last month. Has now dropped below his last winning mark and can give another good account.
Spartan Times
4-time winner on the Flat in 2025, along with a novice hurdle success. Made a winning return in handicap hurdle in May and soon bounced back from a lesser effort on the level when runner-up over C&D 2 weeks ago (length ahead L'Eagle Aid). Respected.
Robusto (IRE)
Bounced back to winning ways at Wolverhampton (1¾m) in April. However, has gone backwards from that effort in 2 subsequent outings, returned to turf (sweated up beforehand) when well held at Newbury (11f) 18 days ago.
Spirit Catcher (IRE)
Landed a gamble over 9f at Musselburgh in April and ran at least as well when runner-up next 2 starts (over 12.5f on second occasion). Unsuited by drop to 1m on first run last month, before not discredited back up in grade when fifth of 14 at York (10.3f) 2 weeks ago.
